yeah it's the roughest place i've spent time in no doubts, and I've lived in a few big cities. **** knows how it compares to the biggies in some of these African places

it's funny how people around the world have different conceptions of what is dangerous. I know of people who would not go to Manilla of General Santos for ****s sake.
sometimes I find it here almost too safe and sterile, and I guess Singapore is even more so.

Yeah, I've heard that too. I don't know if it's true or not, but it seems to be, given the amount of people who mention it.

EDIT: It's bull****. According to Hopkins, he never even agreed to the fight.

Isn't it enough that you both have being complete and utter cretinous pricks in common? But you are both ****ing bitter's too!!???

Sorry, only messing with you both;)

It is bollocks though that reds and blues cannot be friends, I have plenty of blue mates. I even once had a Scouse mate. Lot's of friendly ribbing went on but it is down to people like Follow that we still get **** at football matches, if you can be that stupid to hate a person for the colour football shirt he wears, then, well, you have problems! I can appreciate you hating the tea and hating the support in general but individuals?... No, not one person - even if they are part of the Red Army or the Guvnors - in Manchester, doesn't have mates from the other team, none will completely ignore and avoid a person for that.

If that was the case, then how come Micky Francis (main head of The Govnors) had many Red mates? My family included? Yeah, come weekend, he would be knocking united fans heads together but come the next day, he would be laughing with his red and blue mates in the pub about what happened.

I don't think you really understand football support or hooliganism.

I didn't comment on that...so what makes you say that? :huh . I don';t know about the city of Manchester, I just went to the games and kept myself to myself apart from small talk with the same folks sitting around me every 2 weeks.
other cities where i've had a season ticket and followed a local team, well there was not any suggestion you can't be mates with guys on the rival club away from the stadium.

Roy Keane never said much in public but when he did he was quite serious, he made those comments because he was ****ed off with the type of fans typically turning out for the Reds, a real dig at the corporate guys with their season tickets heading up the M1 each weekend to cheer on ‘their team’. No I’m not from Stockport dickhead, I’ve lived all over Manchester including: Salford, Fallowfield, Levenshulme, Rusholme, Moss Side, and Wythenshawe. There are obviously going to be pockets of Reds in all parts of the city but the majority of your lot (outside of London) are in Salford, Trafford and Stretford, this is the Western half of the city, our lot are mostly from the Eastern half, hence my comment 'other side of the city'.

Having lived in Salford for 4 years, and being born & raised in Beswick & Wythenshawe I have to say nothing in the UK is on the same scale as Bogota in Colombia or parts of Brazil where I have worked in the last few years.

I live close to New York now and travel there often, it's one of the safest cities in the world (and I think that's official, not just my opinion) so shouldn't really enter the discussion.

You're right about New York though, crime is well down in that city post millennium.
