I just don't see how this means the fight makes 'more sense'. I understand that a win over Adamek might mean more for his career, but I don't think that means the fight makes more sense.

Chisora's stock has probably never been higher than after the Vitali fight, whereas Adamek's has probably never been lower.

    Anyway, it's no biggie.

So professional fighters shouldnt care about their bank balance?

Fans/legacy dont pay the bills, Ali has perhaps the greatest legacy of all HWs but does he have a great quality of life? Thats what is most important imo.

Haye has beaten better fighter throughout his career & has almost achieved everything he wanted to, he should be proud of his career.

Why do you regard going to war with journeymen as an admirable quality?

Professional fighters fight for money, its a fairly simple concept to grasp. Even for a "real" fan like you who I doubt has ever attended a fight in his life.

You really are a whiny little *****. "Today's newer fans" Get ****ed

This is what I don't get:

Haye went to HW and fought the best HW of his generation. People are complaining because he didn't waste time fighting a bunch of HW journeymen first.

    Go figure.

he cared more about his K2 paycheck than beating Wlad

he took the Chisora fight because it was a no risk money earner, everyone knew what the result was going to be, it was only hyped beyond belief in Britain, biggest fight since Lewis-Bruno (for that matter, the world does not end at the shores of the English Channel), anywhere else, it was viewed as a decent match-up hyped up with trash-talk

fighting once a year is something to be proud of? if haye had any care for his fans, he'd be doing what the Klitshcko's are doing now- outclassing opponent after opponent 2-3 times a year, he'd be making money fighting guys like Arreola, Chambers, Adamek and so on, and making himself a solid legacy, not just talking trash for 3 years and recieving an embarrassing one-sided decision loss

he lost an embarrassing decision to the best HW of his generation

if he wanted to redeem himself in the eyes of the boxing world, he'd fight Povetkin, Chambers, and whoever else to do so, and get another title shot

but face the facts, David is more interested in playing Bear Grylls in the Austrailian wild than rebuilding his position in the boxing world

It was a 50/50 split & Wlad made by far his career highest payday, it wasnt a K2 pay check.

The rest of your post really isnt worth responding to.

So he did fight the best HW of his generation.

I really don't get what your point is, and it's really dragging out now. Everyone knows he isn't bothered about 'redeeming himself', so why do you keep going on about it as if it actually means something. It's not going to happen is it.

Also, as soon as he lost to Wlad he had Vitali saying he wanted to knock him out and offering him contracts for a fight. So, that's not exactly going to encourage a risk-management guy like Haye to fight contenders when he could go straight into a fight with the 2nd best HW of his generation for a massive pay check, is it?

You're doing it again. Face the facts? I'm pretty sure I, along with most people faced the facts a while ago. How long is it going to take for you to realise he clearly has no intention or interest in his position in the boxing world. How are you still dwelling on this?

He's obviously only wants the big money fights, and it seems that K2 are more than happy to give them to him. This whole jungle thing is clearly just more marketing for when he gets a Vitali fight. He builds his name further amongst the general public, Sky put the fight on PPV, more people buy it.

I'm not saying that's right or wrong, but its the way it is so there's no point getting so angry about it.

boxing is not an accupation, going to work from 9 to 3 and collect your paycheck, it's a sport that's about dedication, hard work, the will and heart to be the best, giving your fans what they want to see

it's sad that boxing today is more about the size of your bank account than giving the fans what they really want

No **** they fight for money. This is also a sport first, and I haven't forgotten about that. But hey, just be happy for Haye's paydays. Seems to be all you're interested in. And if it makes you feel like an insider to talk ab out money and ****, well....good for you I guess.

Is this what you think the problem is? If you really think this is the center of the debate, then you are already starting off not understanding.

Seeing hayeters get all emotional about Haye is the best thing about the General Forum.

I don't disagree with you mate. But that's a very idealistic view in this day and age.
