the fact that there is a huge difference between the science of boxing for a lightweight compared to a heavyweight? When it comes to weightlifting for example, the difference is HUGE. Why would a lightweight ever try to put on more Heavy and strong muscles when it would only result he would face taller opponents? And why would a guy that is naturally 94kg NOT do weightlifting when he is in big need of extra weight against his 110kg opponents? Strength training might be the Field where the difference is biggest but really, why does nobody ever even mention it? I'm the first to know this? I think not. The lightweighters debate weightliftings importance in one way and the heavies in another, while nobody sees why People have different perspectives? Are boxers really that dumb?
You can gain strength without gaining size; however, unless you are calorie defecient, which would effect your strength gains, when you first start lifting, you'll typically gain muscle volume size that will accompany the strength. Once you gain 5-20 lbs, depending on your body, you'll hit a plateu with muscle size at the same body fat ratio, but you can still gain strength incrementally, but it will be nothing like what you initially gained when you just started lifting.
No, there really isn't. The only huge difference is the weight used. Lifting weights does not = muscle gain. Nobody is naturally any weight. This is never mentioned because everything you've said is bull****. Any boxer of any weight class can gain great results from weight training whether for conditioning, strenght and or speed. The main thing to take away from this is you don't have a clue what you're talking about when it comes to weight lifting and boxing.
And the KO ratio is not different between featherweight and super heavyweight. No, not at all. Because if that would be true maybe featherweights and super heavyweights shouldnt Train exactly the same way in what is "correct" training. atsch
Wow, this guys really made you angry by his post. I understand, it was filled with terribly upsetting comments. People need put in their place when they make such utterly rude and upsetting posts as this. It's also obvious after this post that he has no clue about boxing. I mean, look at all the misinformation he has shared about boxing in his post in this thread. What a massive amount of misinformation he has about all of the aspects of boxing! That TJ Max guy made a few true comments, but forgot to put the guy down, curse, and belittle him, and finally make a decisive comment that he knew nothing. Why that initial post didn't upset him I'll never know. :-( Let this be a lesson to all of you that you better get your information accurate the first time!
This doesn't even make sense. You do realise strength and or weight lifting don't = more knock outs don't you? atsch
Yeah, a bit at the time. It just read to me to be a bit over the top to say "it's bull****" and that he "doesn't have a clue," regardless of how inaccurate his information was. However, I added nothing to the post by my sarcastic rant.
