Why haven't Beterbiev and Bivol fought each other?

    I can't figure this out, can somebody explain it to me?
    • Neither fighter has a history of ducking other fighters
    • There's nobody eager to step up from 168 lbs to fight them
    • The don't seem to be any other fights remotely as lucrative for them to pursue
    • I'm not aware of any conflicts between their promoters
    • Beterbiev will be 39 next month for chrissakes
    Somebody...anybody...please tell me what is going on here.

    You usually don't see this sort of crap from Russian fighters, though. What's the actual explanation?

    I guess the only thing I can think of is that since this would obviously be a huge deal in Russia, that the sanctions will get removed in the near future and that this fight can take place in Russia.

    I honestly can't think of any other reason.

    2024 they will.

    And it will be a good fight, Beterbiev cannot be in a bad fight, and Bivol is top 3 p4p skilled.

    Foreman was 38 when he made a comeback and absolutely demolished his competition. Since Beterbievs big attribute is his power and he hasn't been KO'ed I think he'd good to go for another few years atleast.

    Bivol was always afraid of Beterbiev because he knows that if they face each other he will be knocked out... Bivol's resume is mediocre... He has fought with pure bulk except a couple of times... while Beterviev seeks greatness... Bivol hides waiting for him to get old... bivol lives off canelo's victory... maybe the next son will feel that now he can beat beterviev and has the balls to face him

    That's valid, but he didn't have any easy time against Yarde. No Bivol isn't the likeliest guy to stop Beterbiev but he can probably prevent Artur from bringing his power to bear and wear him out along the way.

    And let's not forget that Moorer was giving a boxing lesson to Foreman before he got clipped down the stretch. Nor is it true that Beterbiev is the sort of quick starter that Foreman was (particularly after his comeback).

    A year ago I would have named Beterbiev a clear favorite in this fight. But not now.

    Bivol doesn't want it until Artur looks his age. Artur has asked why he won't fight him to his face and Bivol doesn't even respond.

    I think Berterbiev looked his age against Yarde. So maybe there is a chance.
