Why haven't Beterbiev and Bivol fought each other?

I definitely do not believe either man is a coward, or that either is afraid of the other.

But they have both been champions in the same division for years now, and from my perspective, neither has shown an overeagerness to try and get the fight done.

I'm hopeful it will happen in 2024. But I was also hopeful it would have happened in 2023.

I wasn't talking to you, but thanks for your comment.
If they were business men, they would fight each other. Do you think Beterbiev is making more money vs Smith than he would vs Bivol? Only Canelo would be a bigger pay day for either guy.

This bout would be huge. No other matchup....besides Canelo....would make tham more money.

Yes but the business side causes it to wait.

Spence Vs Crawford, AJ Vs Wilder, Mayweather Vs Pac etc etc. Boxing tends to over marinate fights as its business model and fighters don't always have the say.

What an utterly garbage post. You are talking out of your rear end. What proof do you have Bivol is afraid? Beterbiev chasing greatness???? A 40 year old with 19 fights is greatness?? He doesn't have a hall of fame resume either and given his age, it is average.
It is a good fight and I am sure both promoters are trying to make sure the fight is as big as it can be. For Bivol's side it is a dangerous fight for a guy that could still have 6 years or so left and for Beterbiev they want to maximize $$ because he will be done within 2 years and hasn't had a megafight.

I honestly think Beterbiev beats Bivol and Bivol know it. Bilvol has become one of the most overrated fighters

Both fighters are correctly (imo) picking up wins (and reasonable purses for the average Joe) whilst both knowing that they are the Top 2 at 175 where both, with different styles, are likely to remain unbeaten.

Once they have both topped up a reasonable future living fund from their other fights, both will fight knowing the loser will still have exceeded any wealth thought of when turning pro.

Boxing is a pure £££ $$$ business boys (and girls).

You cannot blame either for maximising every last £ and $ before finally meeting each other in what I'd expect to be a 2 Fight Deal.

Bivol via Points. Clever fighter and boxer.

Both fighters won there first belt in 2017 but only one fighter has gone after the other Champions belts and now has three, the other fighter has made multiple defences but never sought out another Champion for his belt. One fighter has made three successful mandatory defences and his next fight will be his fourth mandatory defence, the other fighter has only made one mandatory defence . It’s not hard to guess which one is Hearns fighter, following his blueprint of maximum reward for minimum risk whilst simultaneously trying to age the other fighter out ! Hearn has and always will be Anti-Undisputed unless both fighters are with him !

Ballsy prediction! What have you seen from Smith that makes you think he can take AB?

Smith has such a large torso, I can only see Artur ripping that body and closing the show

    Large torso

Gives up his height and reach

    Easily reset

Fights out of a crouch when he shouldn't be

Reactive fighter rather than a leading fighter

Beterbiev circles and resets him on the backfoot.
Smith comes in through frustration and Beterbiev clubs him with an overhand right and drops him.

Small 175r with average power versus fearless beast guy who everyone is intimidated by and who clubs everyone unconscious ...

I think it's obvious who's ducking who. Either Bivol and/or his management are very worried about the fight and will happily age Beter some more.

Because they can fight Western boxers and continue making lots of money with their champion status.

Or they may fight each other and one of them loses his virtue and ability to make lots of money per fight.

Look at Bivol; he fought Canelo and grasped $5M.
