If Sultan wins this fight, I hope he get appropriate credit and praise here considering the groundswell of support for Holyfield.

I just have a feeling it'll be "oh, doesn't count, Holyfield's old and shot" again.

holyfield isn't winning this fight, the guy has beaten 4 bums since his comeback, and one of them oquendo, pushed him close, he hasn't fought anyone with a pulse for nearly 3 years. that winning steak does not justify any of these crazy predictions.

Im just pointing out that I dont think Sultan knows what hes up against in this fight. Its not going to be a boxing match. Holyfield fights a lot differently now, and I think after the fight Sultan is going to be suprised as to how Holyfield is as a fighter in the ring. I think he expects a boxing match and not the street fight that Holyfield brings these days.

Even though lefthook31 has somehow shown some wishful thinking about Holy's chances, I still find his remarks pretty unfortunate if not unhealthy ( like he mentions about Sultan's words of which I only see respect)... Vander had his share of unclean sluggers in Dwight Braxton, Rick Parkey, Seamus McDonaugh, Adilson Rodrigues, Bert Cooper, Mike Tyson, Vinny Maddalone and specially Riddick Bowe ( since lefthook31 presents Eddie in his profile pic), Big Daddy hit Holy south of the border, back of the head, kidneys, etc, etc, and got out of the picture against Golota the way he did, ironic to say the least... I really wish people to look how Tyson went right against Vander's side of the head in the 7th and still cried to the ref Mitch Halpern, how Hasim got that swollen head and Vinnie got cut before talkin about how The Real Deal fights, even Fres and Lou were complaning in spite of fighting, Goddamn it!
This is real simple: Ibragimov can stop Holyfield with accumulation and his sneaky fast delivery, also Holyfield will be trying harder than Briggs so there will be more mistakes-opportunities for Sultan to time him.
However, if he choses to pursue that, there's also a chance HE migh get timed by Evander, in which case he'd be in more trouble than he was with Ray Austin.
Still, I think getting dropped in the Austin fight changed Ibragimov a little, I think he's now decided that his gameplans will be around his exceptional mobility and above average handspeed.
Against Holyfield, hit & run is almost guaranteed to work, I'd be surprised if Ibragimov deviates from it unless he's certain Holyfield is falling apart from fatigue.

THE Real deal will be back and win a hard warriors fight. Holy by decision or late stoppage. No doubt.

I think its more about Sultan's less than stellar rise to the top than it is about Holyfield. People aren't sold on Sultan, and beating a 44 year old Evander Holyfield won't help.

The problem here is, youthman, that Holy and Tyson had more than unfinished business and caught most people's ears ever since. Tyson snapped, chewed Vander's ear and saw his own myth die in front of his eyes ( actually he saw it much before when he went to palokaville with Buster), the Tyson fans never forgot and because they didn't, Holy is to be a head-butter sonabitch forever more... That's how I see it when people start threads like this or concerning Vander's retirement - it's unfinished Tyson/Holy hatred. But picture this fellas - just like Dr. King and Malcom - Tyson is a product of violence and fought hazzards with the axe of hate, Holyfield is the humble warrior and fought Tyson's attack with the seed of love and forgiveness ( he could have had Mike in a deep **** situation but he didn't), Mills Lane was just the righteous arm of justice in the right place at the right time... So why do people still talk about Holy being a dirty fighter if not for what has been clearly mentioned? Everybody loves Evander, Ruiz, Toney, Bowe, Lewis and even Mike Tyson is going to Moskow to watch Holyfield, so we should love eachother and stop the crap of who's the macho in this and other threads, lefthook31, youthman, everybody, just love, respect, understanding and forthrightness like Holyfield and Sultan ( The White Tyson BTW)

I hope your basing a pick against Sultan on more than just his performance against Austin. That fight was an anomaly for Sultan as he came into that fight out of shape and ten lbs. higher than he's ever weighed in before.

If Sultan comes to this fight in shape, I think he's just gonna be too quick for Holyfield and this fight could get ugly quick.

I'm one of Holyfield's biggest supporters, and I dont think Holyfield has the workrate either....

......the question however is whether Sultan is really a top level Heavyweight.
I dont see anything in Sultan's resume thats overly impressive.

Beating Briggs who can barely catch a breath and who's workrate himself is much less than Holyfield's, was'nt enough to impress me.

.....but who knows, the fight with Briggs is the only fight I've seen of Sultans, and he is quick and fundamentally sound.....

Its hard to say what will happen. What Holyfield will show up????
.....one that was eager to fight as he did vs Savarese.....or one that could'nt pull the trigger vs Larry Donald.
It's simply hard to dismiss Holyfields horrid performances vs the likes of Donald, Toney, and Byrd.....

I dont have a pick in this fight except to say I'll be rooting hardcore for Evander Holyfield!
Even if its against an unproven like Sultan, It would be great to see Holyfield lift the Heavyweight championship belt one more time!

    Go HOLYFIELD!!!!!!!!:happy
