Why Hopkins was THE MAN @160, and Golovkin is A CAN @160

No, and the hate for Black fightetrs has everything to do with them not being White too. Do you think Black people control media or boxing related anything? Besides here on ESB/BN24 , Scene and Youtube who hates GGG?
Not ESPN, NOT The RING magazine, not Sports Center, not HBO, not YAHOO Sports or anything else.
Every major media outlet loves a White champion. So the 10 guys on here hate GGG and that's a minority in itself for this forum alone. Look at the front page, there is nothing but hate for Black fighters everyday. Ward, Crawford, Hopkins, Mayweather, even Ali was defamed on this board and 90% of the white guys agreed but love Fury though.

Is GGG talented. Yes, absolutely. Anybody that thinks an undefeated silver medalist with extreme knockout power and the heart of a lion is untalented has an ulterior motive.

However, the same can be said about Ward as well. Clearly these guys are highly skilled. They have a different styles, but some of the fundamentals are the same.

Either way, why do we choose to see them as "white" GGG or "black" Ward? Why must we define ourselves by our physical traits?

Have you not ever met a dissimilar person of the same trait?

Be the bigger man and step outside of this racial nonsense and admit to yourselves that while we may be different on the outside, we are all capable of being the same on the inside, as long as we strive to abide by the words of Jesus Christ.

hopkins was also noted to be impossible to negotiate with for many years. costing himself bigger names with his demands. dig up any old roy jones fight on hbo, they talk all about it. then usually had jones and hopkins trading insults, while refusing to come to terms on a fight.

Golovkin is one of my favorite active fighters but I dont think I'm one to overrate him but I think the hatred for him is out of hand at times and usually pretty unfounded.

As state earlier in the thread his style is entertaining and he isnt a controversial character, I figure whats not to like

 

I prefer Hopkins to GGG because Hopkins (for the most part) won with his skills rather then his physicality. Didn't take punches he didn't need to and overall ring intelligence. GGG is a far more gifted fighter than Hopkins. Has freakish power, a granite chin and can outlast and overpower almost anybody he comes across. But that **** fades with time and eventually something has got to give, especially if you're taking hard shots in every single fight. TBH I really don't care about their careers I haven't watch every single Hopkins or GGG fight, but GGG is walking a very dangerous path that most likely ends in dementia. Sad to say and it will be sad to see. I wouldn't wish it on anybody.

Stylistically Hopkins is a nightmare for GGG as he has shown the ability to do what ever he needs to to win a fight which in GGG's case means backing him up and getting inside. Can you think of anyone in Hopkins insanely long career that beat Hopkins on the inside?

I know someone who has been to Big Bear many times....He has said the thing he is amazed with about Golovkin is not only His Boxing ability but his Accomodating nature helps heaps of Young and older fighters with there sparring and is very approachable for advice.....Not a Big head or Opinionated just a genuine nice Guy......In my friends own words...."He is a very hard Guy to Hate".....not so with a lot of Fool's on here it seems.!!!

This stupid, nobody is hating GGG. If you are referring to why people think Hopkins is greater and win head to head match up, that was based on resume. GGG can stay at middleweight as long as he wants, but as of now his resume is very thin.

 

As a matter of fact, GGG is way more popular than Hopkin was even after the Tito win. Hopkins legendary status was solidified when he beat tarver and other champs at lightheavyweight at an old age.

 

Plus it took until Hopkins beat Trinidad for him to get any credit and he had been fighting pro since 1988. He fought Trinidad in 2001
