Why I am a Floyd Mayweather fan

I am a PBF fan because he is a welterweight that doesn't fight welterweights. I love how instead of fighting Cotto, SSM, Margarito, or Paul Williams at 154, he fought De La Hoya, Hatton, and Marquez. I also respect the way he hits the mitts while looking straight into the 24/7 cameras that is the sign of a champion.

 

Good question. Mayweather isn't a very likable guy at all. To me, it seems if he couldn't care less if everyone hates him, as long as he makes his money. I rarely hear him give shout outs to his fans, or fans of the sport of boxing. All he talks about is money and how great he is. When he came back from retirement, he said nothing about coming back for the love of the sport, or pleasing fans. It was all about money, money, money.

I used to like Mayweather, but I got sick and tired of his lame excuses for not fighting certain guys, and the fact that he is just way too arrogant without having a really legit reason to be so. I don't have a hard time understand why people would be a fan of Floyd because of his incredible talent, but I just don't see how anyone could be a fan of him as a man. The bottom line is, he is a tremendous talent - one of the most talented fighters ever to step into the ring, but as a person...he still has a lot to learn.

 

I am a fan because I think he is impressive to watch. He has tremendous speed, and reflexes and does things that a lot nof fighters can't do. He also has tremendous skills, IQ and ring generalship which I can appreciate.

I don't think he's cocky, and even if he is so what, this is a hurt sport. A lot of black athletes talk trash and show off. Thats how we do. We don't take it personally.

Floyd can be hypcritical, but I'll be damned if all of critics aren't huge hypocrites their damnselves. ( Ex: They blast Floyd claiming he ducked Mosley but they make all kinds of excuses for why is was OK for Mosley to duck Floyd.)

All in all I just think he is one of the greats and a special talent to watch. If u like him u like him. If you don't you don't. It is what is is.

 

it was easy to be a fan of floyd pre-chico. but after that ...

 

...and no one likes it when a person claim he's something that he clearly isn't and doesnt even waste time to prove his claims

I'm a fan cause of his ring ability. I don't really give a %$^& about any aspect of a fighter's personality that has no relation with his performances in the ring. Mayweather is confident and dedicated, two personality traits that I respect in a fighter because they actually make him better..

 

I love his boxing skills and watching him train but the reason I like Pacquaio better is because Pacquaio has every reason to act like Floyd does but doesn't. He's made millions of dollars, has an entire country riding his jock but through it all, he acts like the humble grateful man that he is.

But don't compare him to all black athletes. Aside from Ochocinco, I don't think anyone pats himself on the back as much as Mayweather does.

 

I didnt mind him until he said ray Robinson wasnt that good because he has some loses on his record.
He puts reporters down buy saying how much money they earn compared to him like an arrogant fool.

because I love boxing and he is a great boxer...do u know him personally??? I just judge him on his skills and entertainment...he is great...he works hard...he backs up his talk by being the best :hi:

 

yeah cuz de la hoys sucked worse than margo and cotto ????/....he would have whooped them worse for less money....and mosely....he fought ODH just after ODH ko'd mayorga at 154...it is never enough....pac has fought hatton who PBF destroyed an old barrera an old morales and a drained ODH and Cotto....pac is great, but so is floyd....is there ANYONE who would seriously say that he would not dominate cotto margo and shane?....stop ****ing hating...he will fight pac and destroy him too....just like he did the guy that gave pac 2 even fights
