Hes come up the hard way, been a pro for 10 years, never got much exposure, letting Khan, Mitchell and Arthur take the limelight. took the traditional route by winning the Commonwealth, British and European titles.

missed out on his big title match with harrison, not his fault in any way.

lost his first title shot but never gave up once in that fight, kept getting back up and going for the victory. he was seriously weight drained for that fight as well, not just an excuse (i have spoken to training partner vinny mitchell about him, told was collapsing in training). even when he had the world title fight it got bumped down the card, 5,000 fans that should have been watching the fight were outside due to traffic, and matt skelton vs michael sprott and khan vs limmond took centre stage.

if anyone deserves to win a world title its Nicky Cook.

Yep. I really like Cook but I like AAA too. I hope it is a good fight, not that I'll be watching it.

Yeah hopefully these 2 will steal the show and your "casual" fan who is probably only watching cos its khan will get into these 2 and they can pull some bigger paydays.

Nicky has been practically that same weight since we was in school. I met him some years back in a pub in Elm Park and asked him why he hadnt moved up in weight yet. That was quite some time ago. To think he was still at 126 at nearly 30 years of age is amazing as he has some miles on his clock now.

even a fully fit live and active super duper Nicky cook would have gotten battered by steve lueveno theres a huge difference in class and skill.

Fraid so, Lueveno made Cook look like **** that night , Arthur is nowhere near as slick as Lueveno is though so this should be a good battle ( arthur to win it ! )

Arthur will win this and setup a war with Kevin Mitchell.

Kevins got alot of balls much like Nicky. If he can really put alot on them im calling an upset. AA is easy to hit and isnt much better than domestic class.

Cook might "deserve" to win a World title.

But boxing is not about that.

Peter Buckley "deserves" a World title for all he has put into the sport.

Boxing is brutal and cruel - if you are not good enough you get knocked out depsite how much a good deserving guy you are.

For me Nicky Cook is not good enough - Arthur is mediorce - but is better than Cook.

    I expect a Arthur win.

But I expect Mitchell to beat Arthur.

I think it would be a great scrap with Mitchell causing the slight upset and stopping Arthur late on.

Arthur did the British, Euro and Commonwealth route too, why Is It Ignored when he does It but If another promoters fighter does it they get credit?

Cook will get pwned if he's whacked to the body too much, he looks like a light to Welterweight.

at the end of the lueveno fight cook actually had some successes pining him against the ropes and landing to the body. if he could put that kind of pressue on Arthur he could stop him. I know AA has improved since Gomez but i wasnt mega impressed with his last fight and for some reason i want nicky cook to win

I'm supporting him because he's local. Sort of.

I also don't particular like Arthur. I found his talk about unifying all the belts laughable when he held just the interim WBO belt at the time.

Even with Pacman, JMM and Guzman moving up it still isn't going to happen.

Im supporting Arthur because there isn't any other Scottish fighters to support at this level.
