Why I believe Bradley should choose NOT to fight Pacquiao

I went on record a long time ago that I thought Bradley was the best 140lb in the world. He has NOT proven this yet because Khan and Maidana are both deserving contenders to the throne.

Many have speculated on a possible fight between Bradley and Pacquiao if Bradley were to defeat Khan next. Here is why I believe Bradley should either wait a long time before taking that fight or NEVER take it.

    1. Bradley is not and will never be physically a welterweight. He is listed at 5'6 but the man is no taller than 5'5. And he has the frame of a small man too.

    2. Bradley does not carry a punch at 140lb so the move up in weight not only slows him down it hurts his power even more.

    3. Bradley's size usually dictates he has to get on the inside, and being on the inside often requires a fighter to dominate with his physical strength. But the fighters at 147lb are going to out weigh Bradley, be bigger, and will ultimately be stronger.

    4. Manny's combination of high work rate, stamina, and punching power is not a good style combination for Bradley.

    5. I believe Bradley better matches up with Floyd Mayweather. Floyd is a guy who is not very active, doesn't punch hard, and who falls out of rhythm when he finds it hard to hit you. And because of his low punch output, a fighter with good defensive skills and high work rate can take advantage of Floyd's shortcomings.

    6. Bradley can wait while both Floyd and Manny get older (they are 37 & 32 if my memory serves me), and still make very good money fighting the following: Khan, Maidana, Alexander II, JMM, Katsidis, Ortiz, Juan Diaz, Kotelnik, Humberto Soto, Antillon....etc.

Bradley does NOT need to be thrown to the wolves. If he were to truly solidify himself as the best 140lb first, while letting both PBF and Pac get old, he would have far more leverage in the negotiations.

As we all know both Pac and Floyd are pretty much out of opponents unless they are going to fight the best 154lb which neither seem interested in doing.

Bradley and his promoter need to think long term, and understand Floyd and Pac are two fighters on their way out of boxing. Time is on Tim Bradley's side.

If he ever moves to 147 Berto slaughters him, he has nothing coming at Welter.

Yeah - Bradley would most likely lose against Pac-Man.

But Bradley doesn´t think so and would probably take the fight without any hesitation. And that´s just why he is a true boxer, a real fighter and a great champ.

Exaclty. Bad fight for him, definately if taken soon. If he just wants a payday to take a loss while getting his face beat in like the rest of Manny's opponents he should wait... He has plenty of good fights he can take at/around 140. 147 seems to big.

TB needs to tangle w/ a couple of legit WW fighters and then take on Berto. If he beats Berto (w/c I doubt), then he can pursue his dream match w/ Pac or FMJ.

You should email this to Bradley. Just start it off by "Dear Bradley," and replace every mention of his name and use of third person pronouns with "you".
