Why I Belive Calzaghe will beat Hopkins

    this is my opinion

    the way i see it is anytime these 2 would of fought JC owns his ass(as in beats him every time at any time).

    see when nard first started out he was vicious ...HHMM just like HAGLER was in his later career. nard went after his guy and went to war thats how he earned the name EXacutioner. he took his guy out. remeber JOE lipsee.

    if they fight now joes style won't alow NARD to fight with his conservative style he has now. he will be forced to revert to sluging it out or lose every round due to out put and nard got to much pride for that. so he will reluctantly go all out. wich will play in to JC hands and game plan also jc is not just quick but also does not get hit alot as he seem to have a natural radar not on RJJ or willie peps level but it's still great.

    and if you want to go for a younger version of NARD vs a younger JC then you also have to include JC hand not being as bad. there for his power would be that much better there for a young nard would be trading with younger stronger harder hitting Joe risking a possible ko loss.

    and if you want to go with a supose nard that beat TITo then you have a prime jc who always keep raising his game as the compition gets better . take a look at how JC kept elavating his game in the kessler fight( now that wasn't a prime jc that was him on the decline). sorry but jc just beats hopkins period any time anywhere.

    an if you want to talk about hopkins record against Southpaws well JOE calzaghe stance isn't what would give b-hop a problem it's his style and defence. his style doesn't match up well at all against jc. read my entire post of all version thats just the way i see but thats my opinion not fact .

    i just see jc being to much im not saying he would blow him out i just think he beats him

    Hopkins used to be one of my favorite fighters. I picked him to beat Tito. However, Calzaghe is awesome.

    I think that's a good case of what Clazaghe SHOULD do.

    What I think is harder to articulate is what Hopkins CAN and HAS done in fights, particularly against southpaws - Against which he's like 10-0 - That is shut them down and land lead rights all night long.

    Bernard has more old school and game than Calzaghe has had to show - Zag is high output, smart thinking and utilises awesome southpaw angles and I agree he SHOULD win a 116-112-ish decision.

    I for though, will NOT be suprised if Nard wins - I'd never outlay money against him...he's just so damn crafty that what SHOULD happen, often doesn't...

    wwell to dicount a hopkins wins would be foolish. he does have chance but i lay it on JOE

    A younger Bhop would beat JC, and I'm not talking that much younger. I watched him take apart Echols with one hand. That was in their second fight, that Bhop I would not bet against in a fight with RJJ before the KO. At that time he was crafty and busy, and the way he moved up to LightHeavyWeight I think he would have taken to Supermiddleweight with no problem. I think Bhop is going to give JC more than he bargined for because what people seem to forget, any of the top rated fighter that JC beat were straight ahead fighters. Lets see how well he adapts to someone who doesn't come straight ahead and also adapts as well.

    Calzaghe will be the best fighter Hopkins has fought and that does include Roid Jones.

    joe has a good chance IMO and i ive always liked hopkins a lot. i just think joe has good speed and power. not to mention hes the bigger guy physically

    i think this fight will be exciting but with hopkins you never know he can make it extremely boring

    Well, if Calzaghe wins Vs. Hopkins, perhaps he can get Roid Jones to figh him.

    i dont know why but i was roy to fight DM if hes goin to go after past their prime fighters like marcus beyer

    rjj vs DM should have happened like 10 years ago anyway

    I disagree. I think Bernard style won't allow Joe to throw fluries and t-off on him like he does everyone else. It is true that you said Joe raises his game every time he fights, I agree there. But putting Hop in the same category as Kessler and all those guys Joe beat doesn't make much sense. Bernard is FAR more expierenced than Kessler, and alot more smarter and tougher than Lacy. He's gonna slow Cal down to his pace of the fight. Cal has NEVER fought or has seen ANYTHING like Hopkins. Bernard may not be quite the same as he was in his earlier days, but he's still good enough to beat ANY top 10 LHW especially Cal who's not a legit LHW. Hop came up to LHW fought Tarver and bullied him around the ring, then fought Winky and made it a very bad night for him. This isn't a fight where Bernard has to prove he can hang with Joe, I think it's a fight that we'll see how well Joe can adjust.
