LOL grow up! I couldnt read the whole book on why you dont like calzaghe....im sure you have some valid points but from some of the things i read-there was also some dirt written on cal
dude you missed out the part where hopkins ducked calzaghe or does that not count for you? i mean come on do you expect calzaghe to fight hopkins for free or what! secondly its nonsense to suggest that a rjj of 5-6 years ago would beat calzaghe, based on what!..calzaghe would have also been equally younger and stronger. any boxer who says its not for the money is a fool, end of the day your risking ur health in the ring, so yeah 99% is about money and rightly so..
Exaclty. To rematch a man you Ko'd in 1 round is a joke. To then win via split decison and not rematch another is comical to say the least.
I mentioned I understand the RJJ spectacle as a money making fight. After all JC may not have made much with that scum bag Warren so he deserved to cash in. I was just talking about legacy. I said RJJ 2002. 4-5 Yrs ago Jones was busy sleeping after being knocked out for ten minutes by Glencoff Johnson.
He was paid a career high £2,000,000 for the rematch, not something you can really turn down, especially not right after a costly divorce.
It's more the way how he said he does not do rematches that annoyed me.... if he said he does not like Hopkins, thought he won convincingly and does not need to (bs but most boxers are delusional about their own performance) or just think hes too high risk/low reward. But don't say you don't do rematches when you clearly do vs people you already easily KO'd before... it just makes you look like a ***** when there is someone that actually deserves a rematch.
i think had he got a defeat in his career he would be fighting big names right now, but boxing makes such a big deal out of being undefeated that it makes no sence for calzaghe to risk his legacy
Thats fair enough and 2 mil is all the reason you need for a rematch. But then don't claim later that you do not do rematches.
Well if you read the whole thing you would see alot of my frustration is based on JC not maximizing his potential. So don't tell me to grow up if you haven't even read the points I made. After all it is a thread titled 'why I DISLIKE Joe Calzaghe' so what the **** did you expect?
What was your actual point again? What effect does someone's father personally wanting his son to play football for the country of his own birth have on the son's nationality?
