Fight night weights of opponents Cotto lost to:

    Pacquiao: ~150
    Mayweather: ~150
    Margarito I: 162
    Trout: 171

Martinez will come in between 167 and 170. He was 167 against Chavez and looks to have bulked up some. Martinez has manhandled Pavlik (180ish), Chavez (180ish), Murray (180ish), Dzinziruk (165-170ish), Barker (165-170ish), Macklin (165-170ish), and Williams (165ish).

Cotto might weigh 160 on fight night, since he clearly didn't dehydrate (I assume he weighed in on an empty stomach and will gain 5lb from eating by fight night).

Now we know Sergio's last two opponents were huge and managed to get to him some as his body broke down. However, they had about 20lb on Cotto so they had the ability to damage Sergio. More importantly, their durability and body weight enabled them to handle Sergio's punches long enough for him to deteriorate.

    Summary:

Sergio regularly KO's guys 10-15lb bigger than Cotto. Cotto will be the smallest guy he has fought in years.

Cotto has been hurt and/or KO'd by guys 15-20lb smaller than Sergio. Sergio is going to be the hardest hitter Cotto has faced.

Cotto is at best a better, 20lb smaller Chavez. Beating Delvin Rodriguez, however impressively, in no way indicates a readiness to go up in weight to face a lineal champ, however old or injured he might be.

Martinez will light him up and the power will get to Cotto.

    Two possible results:

    1. Martinez by stoppage

    2. Martinez blows out his knee a la Foreman and is unable to finish.

Martinez can lose this fight but Cotto cannot win it.

Very possible. Though I still insist that this fight will be far more competitive than people think. I really can't see a blowout for either fighter but this is boxing and anything(literally one punch) is possible.

P.S. Ignore the vCash ******. He's nothing but yet another s3xually molested ugly mug who finds a cure for his molestation trolling online.

Cotto is 10x the talent, work ethic, and dedication to craft than Junior is.

ur basing it on size only ?

cotto has more skills than all of them, and is technically a better boxer...even better than Floyd...technically

Good big man vs good little man and all that.

I agree. An early one-punch sort of thing wouldn't surprise me though.

If Martinez has ANYTHING left he'll beat Cotto. Straight left down the pipe and move off to the right. If his knee/hands can do that for 12 rounds, he wins no problem.

Just watched the Martinez vs chavez and cotto vs margo2 fights. To me Martinez is a level above him. I hope he wins, he deserves more recognition.
