once an editor at Ring told me that when Max was 15 he had a public access show about boxing in New York and used to hit up the editor for advice. Shows what kind of ambition he had from the start and his love for the sport.
Puh-leez. Kellerman used his family's connections to get in with Bill Cayton and get a job at ESPN. That worthless cable access show was his only "experience" prior to being handed a job at ESPN - and it shows. Kellerman is the most unqualified and incompetent boxing commentator I have seen in 35 years of following the sport.
Sechbach is a clown, but he's not on HBO. Major networks should have qualified, experienced guys like Al Bernstein or Steve Farhood. I wouldn't hate Kellerman so much if he was doing what Sechbach does - that's exactly the level at which he belongs.
Zak is correct.Kellerman is in the same sad category as a Seckbach.Means well but is oh so woeful.:-(
