    Hold up Dawg...

Pav-Hop is a terrible way to analyze this fight. Pav's skills are rudamentary at best, and Hop had not only the handspeed, but also the size and apparent strength advantage. Also, Pav has been buzzed on several occassions, even dropped and in trouble, so the advantage of chin is not there. Also, BHop is a defensive master. He had the advantage of defense.

In fact, the only parallels in this fight is footspeed and hand movement. You owe the youngster an apology... But wait until after Clottey stretches Pac before you pay up.

I wasn't comparing the fights or even the opponents. I was just making a case for lateral movement and angles in boxing.

An apology  First of all, I started my first post with "I'm sorry "

Dude, the kid said Clottey can walk straight forward behind his high guard and IF Pacman wants to him him, he HAS TO stand in front of him. :deal :huh:patsch

He said Lateral movement and angles WILL NOT MATTER in this fight????

No more apology for him, I am sorry to you though :yep

Think about it.... for pacquiao to hit clottey he will have to stand in front of clottey

as long as he accompanies walking manny down with a jab... he should have a way to be in teh fight

    :lol::lol::lol:

I know how ridiculous it sounded.... Clottey is going to have to rely on a relentless jab, timing, a stiff right hand, and just plain old digging deep and taking some shots to find his opening. if his defense can hold up and his chin can take the shots that do sneak through, he will be just fine...

And I will be at the club early.

Looks like you actually know how to pay attention to the sport. FULL ATTENTION and not just act a cheerleader. GOOD post:deal I can agree or disagree but I wont. Dont need to. You broke it down properly and the only thing left is to see how it all unfolds.

I still don't see how pacquiao using angles can really deter clottey.

Clottey will be bigger by 15 or so pounds
and is defensively hard to crack

and pacquiao comes full speed ahead... he wont me sticking and moving... he throws in like 4's & 5's... if he wants to hit clottey he has to stand in front of him...and even so... because of clotteys guard it will be irrelevant.

its basically like margarito vs cotto except a more defensive version of margarito & a much faster version of cotto..... all that angle stuff cotto was doing in that fight was irrelevant because margarito eventually broke him down

if clottey uses his jab enough and does not get hit (which is highly likely due to his defensive style) there is a big chance he can beat up pacquiao

The high guard works fine if the person is standing right infront of you punching straight. What if Pacman steps to his right, ducking under a hook or a jab? Then Pac is on the side of Clottey momentarily punching him, then he circles away. Angles and lateral movement is the textbook counter style to the high guard Clottey uses, and also that Winky wright uses. Winky was able to dominate Tito because Tito stood directly in front of him the entire fight and got jabbed to death and never moved and never punched and gave looks from angles. It was obvious and clearly agreed what the problem was after that fight....lack of lateral movement and lack of angles from Tito.

hence why I say lead with jab.... and in exchanges fire after pacquiao does so you absorb his shots.

I personally don't see that in pacquiao's style.... he catches you in the pocket & peppers you with like 4-5 shot combo's then you retreat.. circle.. and the cycle starts all over.... it won't be that easy for pacquiao because he has to break through clottey...

if anything pac will have to win on some mayweather shti

Clottey can win but he can't afford to be inactive during rounds or break his hand.

watched additional film and noticed that Clottey can defend himself while moving backwards & counter punch

    pacquiao cannot fight going backwards.

    Shhh!

Don't tell 'em nothing. Let these ****ing idiots continue to believe that Clottey is some slow, plodding, 12-punch-per-round-throwing, unskilled, bum.
