I think Flintoff is going to surprise people.

    1. If you love boxing, you won't disrespect it.
    2. If you know boxing, you will be under no illusions of what to expect in the ring.
    3. Flintoff has a solid frame, a great starting point to build up core strength.
    4. Flintoff understands the mechanics of footwork and positioning, the skill of getting in to a
position to take a shot, place a shot, anticipate movement and to defend on the back foot.
    5. Flintoff understands that if you push through, you hit harder, from the foot, up the leg, through the hips etc...
    6. Flintoff can bowl at 90mph, the extension of his arm is natural and strong.
    7. Flintoff has good reactions in terms of head and upper body movement. You need that when getting bowled at, at 90-100mph with unpredictable bounce.
    8. Flintoff was a good all-rounder, he'll know to balance his training.

    9. Flintoff is ruthless, he didn't want to stop killing this goat, he enjoyed it and wanted to kill more of them http://www.youtube.com/watchv=y6whTncUNt4&feature=youtube

Haye did it against Wlad, so I won't hold it against Flintoff.

They'll be able to find a journeyman that'll fall over or not punch back.

Haye's shots against Wlad did resemble bowling come to think of it.

No chance. He'll beat up a few journeymen, nothing more than that.

You're making spurious and crude comparisons between sports here, just because you can get a ball down at 90 mph doesn't mean you know how to transition correctly through the body to deliver a punch, nor does the fact you can get your footwork right to face bowling (although arguably Flintoff's footwork was cumbersome at best) mean you're good at moving in a boxing sense. None of this speaks of his defence either which will be his main problem, any guy that size can hit a bit, its technically he'll be disastrous.

I think the best guy he could beat (and I'd put money on this btw) would be Tom Dallas.

People might make the mistake that he's quite fresh, but in all honesty he was ready for the knackers yard four years ago. Watch footage of him trying to field against the Aussies in 09. Cringeworthy stuff.

Apparently Flintoff boxed as a lad, has always been a fan & has been in the gym for months. He's taking it seriously & is probably one of those guys who are naturally good at every sport they try. I dont think he'll look completely useless.

How would you tell them apart?

He will be terrible- his fitness has always been average and he doesnt take stuff as seriously as you suggest. He had the odd disciplinary issue over his career (drunken pedalos etc) to boot. When he was on Sky recently for some Help for Heroes cycle his fitness was sh1t

He'll fight some nobodies then tee up a dream ex cricketer unification bout against Adam Hollioake
