What do you mean "the media"?.. Floyd has only recently become A-list , he hasn't had enough time in the spot light to make so many enamys, but as i said people can't handle a black man who's on top of the game being so flashy, and who in the American media want Hatton to win?.. Merchant and a few other bums?!!.. that doesn't constitute the whole of the American media!!..

You are wrong. Of course we can tolerate a black man on top of his game being flashy. We cannot, however, tolerate fake wannabe gangsta's who do nothing but disgrace the sport and abuse their position to be a positive influence on future generations of boxers or represent the American people in general. Floyd Mayweather acts like an *******. That's what people have a problem with. Most of America wants to see him knocked the **** out ASAP. Even his family say he isn't from the ghetto and that he's never wanted for anything in his life. It's a shame because if he'd drop the pathetic gangsta act he would be a worldwide hero.

There are plenty of USA black athletes on top of their game who are flashy. The perception I have of USA culture is that it loves winners. And it also isn't as adverse to cockiness as we are here, for example.

The whole promotion for this fight directed at THE GENERAL PUBLIC (not fight fans like us) is that there is a good guy (hatton) and a bad guy (PBF) even the way 24/7 is edited is emphasising this point. I have never met PBF but i think he is flashy. Now that perception has been presented to me by the media, no one else.

Also PBF says himself 'they don't talk about how I feed X people on thanksgiving' SO he feels it himself.

All I am saying is some guys make a career out of being the bad guy and it doesn't bother them. But I sense PBF is trying to change the publics opinion of him because he feels uneasy with the role of heel.
