    That's debatable.

Not sure about Golovkin. He's a very good stalker after all. Showed a lot of his most underrated work (disrupting the opponents rhythm with pitipat punches and feints) against Canelo. He's very good at making the other guy doubt himself and become too passive. But, on the other hand, time is on Saunders side and Canelo and Jacobs showed that Golovkins punches aren't that hard to defend against. It's that very educated and unrelenting pressure that gets even to the top notch fighters.

But Saunders on the other hand has faster feet and fresher legs than any of them...

Who's the best fighter Jacobs has beaten? Quillin? That's a pretty good win, but does he have any other against ranked opposition?

If GGG was fresher i'd have him beating Saunders, but the truth is, Saunders only wanted this fight when GGG started slowing up, and I think now is his moment too to shine. He'll be a very hard man to outpoint for a while BJS imo

You pointed out that he beat Joppy. Joppy was 34 (and Golovkin was 35 when he faced Canelo and Holmes) and had suffered a brutal beat down by Hopkins in the previous fight.

Tito iced a younger and less worn version of Joppy.

He beat all the top ranked MWs from 96-04 basically, bar one I think. And he did so convincingly. Golovkin has yet to beat one top ranked MW convincingly. See the difference?

Tito had a better win at MW than anyone Canelo has and he was outclassed from start to finish, whether there were some kidney punches or not.

Man oh man. You talk about natural MWs and you put Canelo AND Brook in there!?

And I don't agree he was robbed against Canelo. I think a draw was a fair call for a very close fight. If I had to give it to anyone, I'd give it to Canelo since he landed the better punches.

And how was Brook (who had done NOTHING at MW) better than Lemieux who at least just had won a belt?

    As for Hopkins:

Joppy and Holmes were both in the top 3, top 5 for many years.

Tito perhaps doesn't meet your standard of "natural MW" (which somehow Brook seems to do, though), but he earned his shot by icing a genuine MW contender, something Canelo never has done, in Joppy.

Allen and Eastman were also in the top 3, top 5 for several years.

    BS!
2008 +2009 Kelly Pavlik was champ and GGG was unranked
2010 Martinez was Champ and GGG was unranked
2011 Martinez was champ and GGG was no3.
That's 4 years you can scrub for a start!

Its just plain shoddy. its a more shoddy defence than Shawaddywaddy on that shoddy Top of the Pops show presented by Jimy Saville.

It was a weakass defence but it was late stand-in, so thats ok. However its a terrible way to draw level with Arthur Abrahams 10 defence streak.

Brook's a blown up welter! Canelo, a blown up light middle .Or does that only apply when it isnt Golovkin we are talking about?

I think Quillin is the one.
Post-Golovkin, Sulecki might be another - but, I'm not at all sure about that.

Dude, you spent some time thinking this over, not just boxrec knowledge , jus' a lil bit' lol!

Haven't read all the posts here, so my bad if I'm repeating something. IMO it all comes down to eras, the fan grows up in.

I have a Ring Magazine where Jake Lamotta said...R U Ready???o_O He was asked about the current era (1980s MWs) He said Hagler wouldn't last in my era bwaahaahahaaaaaa!! :risas3:

He said Hagler struggled to beat a blown up LW Duran who had been fighting since 1969, & chased Ray Leonard, how the hell does he beat the real Sugar Ray?
20 years from today, some kid will look up your post, steal it and run to town with it.
With that said...U convinced me...GGG makes Top 15.

When people are arguing about whether Golovkin is better than Hopkins and Hagler at MW, then you can close the book on the question "is GGG a top 15 MW?"

    Yes, he is.
