    Yes, he won both fights. The vast majority of the media, who were not paid by the promoter ( Promoter picks the judges ) thought so.

    Furthermore, this is Canelo at his best. He has improved quite a bit. GGG was 36, 5 years older than what you claim was past Hagler prime's.

    You can find 7 rounds easily for GGG, but you can't for Canelo, who was hurt, cut, and lost the majority of rounds 7-12.

    If you have the full judges cards, show them here.

    sad that G didn't get the wins in his 2 biggest fights but Delahoya & Hopkins are pretty influential with golden boy productions. Both fights were close & competitive but IMO Canelo didn't win either fight 3G is 36 & should not have been removed from his title I gave 3 G 7 rounds 2 were close & I split them unfortunately the judges leaned to Canelo. I understand he is young & has more of a future than 3G but I hate politics in sports when a fighter gets hurt. That being said both men were gladiators

    I'm fine with the decision. But yeah, when you factor in the old adage of having to TAKE the belt from the champion, there is a bit of rawness... just a bit.

    An imperfect sport this boxing.

    The second fight wasn't a robbery granted, (even though i still had Golovkin winning) but as for the first fight, that WAS robbery, GGG won that as clear as day, Canelo won more than 4 rounds.

    Tbf we might look back on GGG:s close fights with Canelo and Jacobs as a 35-36 year old giving as good as he got from two really, really good fighters.

    My guess is be that Canelo loses to Saunders if they ever meet, though, and I don't think Jacobs will stay at MW for much longer. The guy is ****ing huge and it must be taxing to drain 20+ lbs for every fight.

    I would like for GGG to have a rematch with Jacobs and face Saunders as soon as possible.

    It is a bit frustrating that the division was pretty weak when GGG was at his peak and that the top guys didn't fancy meeting him. Not that a win over Martinez in 2013-2015 or a win over Cotto would really tell us that much. It would be better if GGG was five years younger now instead.

    Boxing is not a sport. Its an event, full of contracts, suing, and lacking a single commission to govern it.

    Canelo proved he's a defensive durable type, which leads me to this question. Who at middle weight in the history of the division could win a decision over Canleo with these " judges " My answer: NONE, they would have to knock him out.

    So GGG has yet to win the lineal title and lost or struggled with the two best middleweights he ever fought?

    He won the Jacobs fight clearly.

    He also beat Canelo clearly first time around.

    Martinez would not fight him. Neither would Cotto. Canelo waited a few years for GGG to age, and with his promoters hand picked judges drew and officially beat him, yet the vast majority of media scoring both fights see it the other way around.

    When you have 2/3 or more seeing the fight another way around, you've got controversy or a robbery. These days flipping 7-5 fights the other way around is becoming a problem in big fights.

    The way Box Rec would view it is GGG is 2-0 on News Wins over Canelo.

    Those are the reasons why.

    The media cards. All of them.

    116 = GGG won
    021 = Draw
    009 = Canelo won [includes 2 Golden Boy promoters]

    116/146 = 79% had GGG winning the fight.
    021/146 = 15% had a draw.
    009/146 = 06% had Canelo winning the fight.

    I don't have access to historic robberies, but when 79% say of those in boxing say one guy won, and only 6% say the other, what other conclusion can you have except it was in fact a robbery.
