i doubt his power is going to hold up if he moves up. one of his greatest attributes is his power, and if he was to move up to 168 and his power isn't a factor anymore nobody would get any credit from me for beating GiGi. it wouldn't be the real GiGi, it would be the GiGi who eats 6 to 8 protein packed meals every single day just to keep the weight on him. now he eats about 3 meals a day, that's a dramatic difference. and soon the fighters from 154 will be moving up to 160 in about 2 years, so he can fight guys like the charlos, andrade, lara, canelo, etc. there are some good fights for GiGi at 168 though but i don't like the fact that he's almost 34...
that's weird cause the guy was trying to get fights with froch and chavez at 168....hell still be lookin for that froch fight if froch gets in the ring again
I would like to see him unify and top Hopkins record, at the moment you almost have to mention Hopkins in the top 5 middleweights of all time (which I have no problem with) and would like to see an offensive fighter have the same accolade before he moves up officially
i doubt he'll ever move up truth be told. i think he'll go down to be the next truly great middleweight because there's no one that can beat him there in this current era
Why didn't you say this when the fights with Froch and JCC Jr were being talked about?:hi: Agenda spotted.:deal
168 seems kinda weak. Won't be surprised if Murray beats AA (actually I favor the Brit), wich would show the gap in class.
ya eastpaw there prob isn't anyone that can beat him at mw which is weird though...because if other fighters stayed in the same division their whole career, even though the division was pretty weak, and faced no real threat or challenges....you would be crying for them to take challenges and move up.....but not good ole ggg....everyone is fine with him staying put.....because he makes you tingle and feel invincible just like pac did before his dad put him to bed
you would like that lewis.....instead of seeing how good he is....youd rather him beat up Sebastian heiland just so people like me can laugh at how pathetic that is
He's building on his legacy right now, he's a natural middleweight and in his prime right now. I suspect he will move up in 2-3 years.
GiGi is about to be 34, most fighters move up when they're not comfortable making their current weight anymore. GiGi is not a big middleweight whatsoever, canelo's heavier than him and he fights at 155.
Abraham is pretty **** nowadays, probably the weakest titlist in the game atm. But yeah, Abraham is also the example of why it may not be a good idea to move up too soon. I always said, finish your business at 160 first then move up, unless there's absolutely no options but it's looking like he'll be able to unify soon so he should just achieve that goal first.
Golovkin's screw up was not starting his career at 154, he would have been a 2 division champ by now and people would have complained less.
