haymon is behind schaeffer's betrayal of oscar. haymon was behind all those mismatches on hbo and showtime to build up his future pbc fighters.
Didn't Arum say "F**k the fans" when asked why he was taking so long to make Juanma Lopez vs Gamboa 4 years ago?
I wish Don King was back on top. Yeah he was a crook, but he made fights happen. Now promoters just put on boring show cases and keep the best fights from ever happening, thus boxers never develop because they are never challenged to their extreme limits. Haymon, Arum... they all suck. If PBC was putting on good fights, then I'd praise Haymon, but thus far PBC has been one of the most dull boxing shows ever.
TBH, I don't think it's about him being black. It's more about him being Floyd's agent. Anything associated with Floyd is hated. SHO, Haymon, Las Vegas , USADA, the women, the money ... it's a clear pattern Haymon is doing what's right for boxing. Fck Oscar and Bob by trying to keep everything PPV and on premium channels. At least Al is trying to make Boxing free. It's easy to see who are the real boxing fans on this forum by their reaction to PBC.
puts ****ty mismatches? al has made the best fights so far, name me on promoter that competes with him, go on tranny.
To people who follow boxing it was a garbage fight but to the casuals and people in attendance it was just what they wanted to see. A vicious knockout. They were rooting and applauding all over the place so in that respect it was a success.
Yeah, it sounds terrible, but Don put on the best fights of all time. And the reason he did it is because he didn't give a **** about his fighters. He would match his best fighters in dogfights all of the time, and if they lost, they lost.
Well, Al get's hated because what he is doing is allegedly against the law.. but it'll be tied up in the court system for ages.. so don't expect any resolution to that.. but yeah.. Al isn't an adviser.. he's a manager and promoter.. you aren't allowed to be both... but it's up for debate if it's bad for boxing in the long run. He's attempting to combine boxing and UFC.. create a stable big enough of fighters to just run their own events.. in the end it's good for the overall sport.. and good for mid-level fighters... bad for superstars... which basically sums up most sports in the US.. the super-stars are underpaid, but the bottom and mid-level get opportunities that wouldn't exist otherwise.
