I was picking Beterbiev, but after that injury, which was a bad one, I’m picking Bivol, when older athletes get bad injuries, they normally aren’t the same again.

He can't avoid the power for 36 minutes

    That's the key thing here

Yes, Beterbiev will probably be outboxed and even made to look clumsy for a while but in the end he will get his shots in - which will be strategically placed and very accurate - and that will slow Bivol right down before the inevitable KO or TKO.

Let's not forget that Bivol has personal life issues.

Bivol has to much respect for Beterbiev, it was visible every time they faced each other or Bivol got asked about Beterbiev.

and let's also remember how many times his last opponent land that bodyshot.

We know Bivol has a great jab but Beterbiev has an excellent one too

I see it as much more of a 50-50 fight now than I previously did but the thing is we've never seen Beterbiev made to look slow, clumsy swinging and missing wildly and not be able land with his shots. You might see glimpses of this but how many rounds have you seen him lose where he cannot land and looks frustrated and unable to solve the puzzle in front of him? He has a knack of being able to land against everyone. Bivol will be the most tricky to do so against but Beterbiev has always found a way

    It wasn't a bad injury

It was the BEGINING of a tear and it was preventative and very minor surgery

Rehabilitation was completed at the end of June - confirmed by Marc Ramsay

I'm just glad all the Bivol and casual fanboys haven't picked up on this at all

    Bivol is getting smoked

People who are mentioning the injury: Beterbiev looked like a 28 year old vs Smith after recovering from an injury. I doubt this injury will slow him down one bit.

i think bivol will get knocked down 3 times in the first round and get an inspirational speech from his cornerman and then come out fired up and get knocked out cold with a right hand behind the ear and need smelling salts to wake up

I like Bivol, but anything could happen in boxing's best fight.

If you go off fighter's personal lives, you definitely should know Beterbiev is a devout religious man while Bivol has domestic violence accusations against him  that's all personal life BS though, Fight wise I'm super excited

Crazy idea, what if Bivol actually punishes Beterbiev including on the ropes? It won't happen, but I still have shocking memories of the Ward v Kovalev fights. In particular how the boxer (Ward) eventually starting punishing the KO puncher (Kovalev) back into the ropes.

The basic idea people have is that Bivol have success early, but may (or may not) eventually succumb to the punches of Beterbiev....that is the typical boxer vs puncher story. But reality has been different in fights I've seen, where after a long fight...the power puncher starts to retreat. And then (to the shock of fans) its the power puncher who is in survival mode in the end while the boxer is lighting him up.

I'm picking Bivol to win this. Beter has 2 strikes against him. He's old and he's got that Canadian stank on him. I know he's only conveniently Canadian because of the war, but that's enough for me to pick against him.

It depends on the ring size imo, if it's in a smaller ring where every step back puts Bivol on the ropes, Beterbeefs chances of a KO go up. If its in a Big ring (21ft or more) Bivol will outbox Beter to a UD.

Before the Gvozdyk fight this is how people were envisaging the fight too but eventually Gvozdyk - who is bigger, stronger and just as talented as Bivol - wilted.
