Why in gods name do people want Mayweather vs Canelo II?

I hate Mayweather, but Mayweather EMBARRASSED Alvarez without the torn shoulder. As his own trainer described it "It was like Canelo was blindfolded trying to hit pinata". I would not waste Floyds last fight on a fluke like that. Canelo is slow and has no stamina. If Canelo wants to taste the ring with Mayweather again beat GGG. It would be a waste of time. I'd put my mortgage on Mayweather.

    No one wants it again.

May embarrassed the hell out of him. I didn't see Canelo connect on a clean punch the entire evening.

I rewatched Mayweather/Alvarez a few months back. Alvarez did better than I thought watching it live at the time. It was indeed a chess match and while Alvarez's tactics seemed incredibly stupid given both fighters' skillsets he was actually throwing sharp punches throughout and didn't seem completely clueless when covering up. He was just controlled with footwork and counters so he was reduced to one telegraphed punch at a time or an easy to predict one-two as the fight labored on.

No rematch for me, though. Not unless Alvarez does even more than he has since losing to Floyd. Even then, the first just wasn't anywhere close enough.

Canelo doesn't have the footwork to beat PBF he's too plodding. If he had better footwork he could give PBF hell.

Agreed. No real appetite for a rematch if I'm honest.

Who actually wants to see THAT?

The only rematch involving Floyd that I'm interested in seeing is against Cotto, assuming it were to take place at a legit 160 (which I know neither of them are true middles, but for the sake of appearances, they should agree to that).

His footwork has improved, he was able to catch Lara. But still, I don't want to risk another woeful effort on his part.

This is true... but on the flip side, Canelo is strong enough to employ bullying tactics from behind a jab... that would give him the best if not the only chance.
