I'd like to see Pac take on the winner of one of the big LW bouts coming up. Other then that, a fight w/ Hatton is cool w. me.

What's the hurry? why not the other way around?

If Pac fights Hatton and gets destroyed it would take some of the lustre out of his fights coming back to 135!

You shouldn't take things so personally feller.

To me personally it has nothing to do with race, but I am also not who Pac remains to show himself to. I am already convinced that he is a good fighter and I would pay a bit to see him. I don't even think it is about race for the mainstream. It is just about exposure. Many mainstream fans that follow Hatton would perhaps never get to see Pac simply because there is noone that their media touts that fights in those smaller divisions. As such they would never be exposed to Pac. Not everything in life is about race etc. I think it is simply a matter of exposure.

I am talking about the large mainstream boxing audience.

LW is one of the best divisions in boxing today. Dominating it would just say a lot for Manny historically. Also, though David Diaz was a legitiamte champion, he wasn't the best in the division. Taking out all the other champions and uniting the belts will do a lot in quieting his critics.

Plus, Manny looks really good fighting at 135. I just want him to get used to the current weight he's in before jumping to a higher one. Plus, who else will he fight after Hatton? Will he go back down to LW? LW just seems to be the perfect place for the PacMan to be in right now.

yeah, pac breaks through a bigger audience with a hatton showdown. when he comes back to unify with the 135 lbs. champions, the fights would be followed by a bigger audience and more meaningful. this is assuming he wins against hatton

True. If he can beat Hatton he will take many of Hatton's fans with him back to 135 or whereever he goes. If he fights another Mexican he won't win any fans because they have already seen Pac a gazillion times against other latinos. Pac has conquered all the latino fans he is going to conquer. If he is smart he will try to get other fan segments.

if pac loses via UD, there will be no luster lost when he returns to 135. He will still have his belt.

Historically it would be more significant if he unified 135 by fighting the Campbell/Guzman winner than fighting Hatton.

I don't think he needs to clear out the division as its not clearly his but just take a few fights to make sure he is solid at the weight before moving up in weight and facing a possible knock out against someone he has the skills to beat if he is prepared.
