Why Is 49-0/50-0 A Big Deal?

because thats alot of wins with no loss!! thats why!! And Mayweather has fought nothing but top ranked/world champions since he was 18-0 so its turly a crazy record to have

 

It's not in the slightest,it's like when a great fighter gets beat and says they don't want to end on a loss and beat someone out of their league.
Marciano was 49-0 was he greater than ali? No
Floyd can go 50-0 is he greater than Leonard ? No
Ppl buy into the undefeated too much,look at adversity and challenges faced over staying in a comfort zone and keeping it

 

Floyd has fought everyone. there is no comfront zone you speak of, thats why his record is WAAYYYY better then Marcinaos and I take Mayweather at 130 over any SRL weight he was. Mayweather truly is great

 

Obvious answer: They've gone beyond 49-0 but all lost or had a draw at some point beyond that.

Most that have reached 49-0 or beyond as a world champion never fought close to the quantity or quality of top ranked challengers as the man who is now within arms' reach, and surely inspired this thread, of tying Marciano's mark.

 

Well at least half of Mayweather fans, me included, believe he lost to Castillo, I thought Maidana 1 could've been a draw and De La Hoya I can see a case for but those two are definitely tipped more toward a narrow floyd victory for me. But every fighter goes through razor thin decisions so I can take it or leave it and he did rematch both Maidana and Castillo and do the business so it's not that big a deal but I do believe he could feasibly be 1-1 in addition to the rest of the wins so I couldn't give much of a **** about his perfect record as that's not how a fighter ought to be defined. Do kinda wish he'd got an official loss so we could've seen one or two seriously high risks moving up again, that's what TBE candidates do, but it's a crazy fete to attempt so can't blame him when he's achieved so much regardless.

 

He is great,skill wise especially.hes hardly a warrior tho.hes gone 6 years avoiding who was rightly his main challenger,in that time he's fought inferior opposition while waiting for pac to slow down.if he had pacs mentality he would have stepped up and imo beaten Martinez maybe ggg.
Fair play to him he's a businessman,worked it well but legacy wise he could have been a lot more

Pac didnt take the test so dont blame floyd for all that noise. Pac would;ve got whooped that same way like in 2015 as he did in 2009

 

Floyd just beat Pacquiao the #2 fighter in the world but all of sudden he shot? You guys make me laugh all time talking all the trash for years about Floyd ducking Pac and now that he finally beat him all of sudden you pull out the " Pac is Shot " ****.
