Although he's a solid fighter with good skills, I've also always said he's somewhat overrated. He's got good pop and decent hand speed but his normally very low workrate is his downfall and some day, someone will exploit and constantly counter his wide looping shots.

Dirrel exploited it very well as did gevor til the 12th when he was stopped while ahead

I don't think he's overrated but power all alone will attract people to watch a certain fighter regardless of flaws. He has power so he gets a lot of fans for it, not as many to claim he's overrated in my opinion.

    He's not overrated.
Most of his fans know and acknowledge his flaws, but love his awkward style and sensational punching power. He doesn't have many blind followers like Floyd, Pac, Haye and Pav for instance.

That and Valuev is a good friend of him, that only makes him a ATG :D

 But seriously, I think you hit the nail on the head. I haven't seen anybody running around going "He's top 10 middleweight ever!" or anything crazy like that. I think he's rated about like he should be. A dangerous SOB with good skills. ...Which he no doubt got from SNV...

    That´s true.

I like AA, but even I think it was highly unlikely he would have won the fight in the 12th round.
Dirrell wasn´t hurt and he still had some stamina left.
On the other hand AA was cut and had taken some good shots. So saying Dirrell was hurt or getting weaker is a bit exaggerating.
I´m convinced Dirrell should be considerd the favourite if there is a rematch.

AA still would beat Pavlik though:hi:

I agree Dirrel had outboxed him but i remember at the time thinking Abraham was really upping the ante before he landed the illegal blow, and i think Dirrel was starting to feel it.
For me the illegal blow stopped what could have been a barnstorming end to the fight that would definately have suited Abraham more than Dirrel.

It really is very possible Dirrell could have hit the deck in the last rounds though.. I dont care what ad is on the mat, water, or whatever, to slip all the way down like that you have to be tired.. Abraham was starting to land..

Either way, we wont know because he ruined it..A Dirrell UD or an Abraham KO would have satisfied me much more than what we got.

AA i dnt think he is overated maybe just a little bit. really all he has is ****in up straight up deadly power. in any fight of his career he will have a chance to win just because of that.

AA is good but he maybe overatedd bc all he has is power . doesnt really have good D to me he basically lets u hit him he covers up but u can still land punches. when he fights elite fighters there going to be able to evade his punches and tag him all nite. AA just dont got enough tools in the toolbox but he will always have one great tool because when he catches u flush itts lights out good nite

there might be some who has rated abraham high enough for them to be expecting far greater things but in no way was he generally overrated imo. sure he's been undefeated for quite a while now but bear in mind that prior to moving up he was fighting in a relatively weak middleweight division.

having a single loss after moving up and stepping up in opposition doesn't make one an overrated fighter. losses don't mean much if one wants to truly test his limits. abraham has the power, heart and character to bounce back from the loss. I won't write off king arthur from the super six contention just yet. known to be a fighter who fought his way to victory with a broken jaw, the guy obviously has what it takes to overcome adversities. i hope abraham notches an impressive win on his next outing.
