In the eyes of the legal system, his punishment was served and he has done his penance. It is irrefutable that time served is inadequate for serious crimes, since the damage done to the victims and those who care about them is permanent, cannot be undone, and there is no form of restitution that would ever give complete closure. But this is the system we live under. Like it or not, he is free to re-enter society and pursue whatever career he is able to. He should be allowed to box. That being said, time served, and a growing amount of time from his offenses, doesn't excuse what he did, doesn't magically make him a good guy, doesn't mean you would allow him to be anywhere around your wife, sister, daughter, female friends etc. I don't care what he's done since being released, he's still a despicable human being. He's also made a mockery of the sport with his last 4 years of complete BS. F*@k Adonis Stevenson.

What Stevenson did was awful and should not be forgotten and it will be held against him, but at the same time, he has served his time and from what I've heard from fans is pretty affable. Why do people get so caught up in boxers personal lives? They are not role models.

Don't sweat the details man, no one likes the truth when they're spinning a yarn.

BS. That's not how the world works. Do felons get to go into go into office? Work in civil services? Do molesters get to be Scout Masters? They paid their dues didn't they? Hello?

Has Adonis ever donated anything to his victims? AFAIA, he hasn't. Kovalev unintentionally killed one of his opponents in the ring but he donated the entire purse from one of his fights to the family of his victim Roman Simakov (RIP). He was under no obligation to do so as he hadn't done anything wrong. If he hasn't a gesture like that from Adonis would go a long way to help repair his public image. It's not like he can't afford it, because obviously we know he's doing more than alright for himself and he's always flaunting his wealth on social media, whether he's posting pics or videos of stacks of cash, his latest bling, or ones of his fleet of flashy cars. Or if he has actually donated something to them or tried to, his PR team should make sure everyone knows about it.

Regarding him being allowed to box, I don't see a problem with that.

Much of what Adonis did he was a youth as well and clearly
controlled by older individuals, it continued up through his young adult life (between 15-21ish I believe).

He's 40 and has made amends with the system and served his time. No one likes
what he did but that was literally a life time ago. I'm not a fan of his past, and
he's a frustrating boxer who should be doing more than he has in the ring, but
the outside the ring crap needs to quit being discussed.

If we go by that, damn near every boxer needs to turn in
their licenses, as a whole boxers are mentally a mess.

The charges don't carry the death sentence. He never screwed over his workplace. I think he should be allowed to pursue a means of income so as to not be homeless and without food.

Boxing is full of subject characters. Always has and always will be. Adonis is not the "worst" of the bunch.

True. We parade around some who have changed their ways as shining examples to the youth. Yet we continually hate and degrade some who have changed their ways for the better. It is what it is. I'll never be a Stevenson fan. But the hatred for him seems a bit odd in this sport. Wasn't Adonis like 17 when that all went down? I'm sure nobody reading this did anything terrible when they were around that age. Only angels on this forum.
