Why is AJ still interested in fighting Whyte?

At around 1:06 the interviewer's going to ask about Pov and Wilder and Hearn responds by letting us know AJ is most interested in Whyte.

What does he have to gain from fighting Dillian again? That wouldn't be seen as weak in the UK?

Very weak. Dominated him and finished him off brutally.

    He enjoyed the 1st one.
    Its 1-1 now between them.
    They dont like each other.
    Easy to make.
Whyte blames his shoulder says had it been good he woulda won.

It’s his arch rival from when they’ve been younger. He will always hold that hatred for him.

It's pretty clear he doesn't like Whyte, they genuinely hate each other I think.

Also, I think Joshua knows he under performed against Whyte, he went in looking to take his head off and got punished for it. I think he wants to fix that mistake and beat Whyte convincingly a 2nd time around.

Personally I don't think it's necessary, Joshua is clearly the superior fighter by some margin, even on his worst day Joshua KO'ed him.

I want Parker, Povetkin and Wilder in 2018 and then Usyk and Fury in 2019, after that he can fight Whyte again if he wants but not before then. That is of course with the caveat that Whyte keeps winning, which I have doubts about that in regards to the Browne fight.

Hopefully Povetkin agrees to the Price fight, that would be amazing.

After Browne Big Daddy's Whyte he'll be fighting the likes of Gary Cornish and be thankful for it.

So he's a money grubbing petty man what can't get over his ams career and is more than willing to avoid solid fights for easy self indulgent pay-outs and the UK is cool with it?

Safe $15 million for AJ while taking very little risk. I get his point of view. Crappy matchup though for boxing fans IMO, hope this won't happen.

Wasn't Whyte in line for a WBC mandatory shot after beating Delboy? Whatever happened to this. Deontay declined the fight but what about the mandatory position?

He's still ranked 1. Pretty sure Whyte is Wilder's mando and Pov is AJ's. Provided they get past Price and Browne.

Let me ask you, is it possible Hearn is full of **** and just mentions Dillian as much as possible to keep him relevant while he struggles to impress?

Could he be trying to make Dillian sort of like AJ's Godfrey of Jack Dempsey fame? The guy you see before seeing AJ?

I think he has promised Whyte a title shot. That why, I believe, he tried to sell him out to Wilder.

But he is also the promotor of both Whyte and AJ, so having them fight is a double win for Hearn.

He get his percentage from each, and if Whyte wins he still has a champion in his stable. If AJ win, again, nothing changes and he can still sell Whyte to the Brownes of the world at the same time AJs profile rise further.
