Why is Alexander fighting Kotelnik (Khan's leftovers) as a main fight.

Alexander is being ducked by big name fighters left and right. Why? Because he's a stylistc nightmare for anyone at 140. The guy has two belts and can't get a fight with the likes or Ortiz, Bradley, Khan, Maidana or Pac something isn't right there. The guy will do a good gate in St. Louis as well. People should be knocking down his door to fight but it's not the case.

Well actually reports are saying that they never even got offered the fight, so this is all a bit irrelevant.

    http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/boxing/8709188.stm

But if they wanted Katsidis, I still think they have to make him a solid offer.

The potential benefits to his career from the victory, is not a reason to take the fight, the mans gotta be paid. He would be the underdog in the fight, and he doesn't need it, so Khan's team would have to offer a good payday for him.

Its a solid fight, just not the most intelligent choice.

Hmmm that's interesting. Guess we'll have to wait and see what GBP's response is to that. But considering previous reports (released in the past couple of weeks) in relation to this, I find it hard to believe Khan's lot did not approach them with an offer. But until something official has been confirmed, we're in the dark.

Let me get this right, the potential benefits to a career from a victory, is not a reason to take a fight? You really are clutching at straws, in your attempt to justify Katsdis' reason to turn down a great fight like this (that's if he did turn it down). Either way, I'm tired, and I'm going bed. Laters dude

Ok well what I mean is, the potential benefits are just that, potential, not guaranteed. You only get the benefits if you win.

So Katsidis would have to be betting on his ability to bet a bigger, faster world champion, to get those benefits. Betting on the underdog.

Chances are he would get beaten, the he would have got only a middling payday, and a loss that could potentially derail his currently going well career.

    You get me?

If DA smokes Kotelnik and KOes him it is great PR...............who else you want him to fight??? Everyone is busy and I bet if Khan would have wanted DA ........DA would be fighting Khan next..........but you know Khan isn't going that route. That is why.

Thats not a great analogy mate in fairness.

Marquez was given a career high payday, if I'm not mistaken, to be the whipping boy for Mayweather. He would not have accepted the same money he takes for fighting guys in his own division.

You just contradicted your own point.

They wanted Marquez to be the fall guy, so they paid him a big sum of money. He did it, knowing he had little chance of winning, but at least he was getting the right reward.

He just got the same money for fighting a guy in his own weight class. Why take a harder fight for the same money? He can get the same if not more taking his mando in the US

No offence Darni but Khan has a made a career out of this. If it was a few duff fights no problem but its becoming comedic trying to figure out which feather fisted or shot to **** fighter they'll find next.

Kotelnik is Khans BEST win by a mile and Alexander is fighting him as a tune up.

    Nothing wrong with this fight.

Kotelnik was a top ten LWW when Khan fought him and he's still a top ten LWW now.

However you scored Kotelnik/Maidana it was close fight which could have gone either way. So not sure how Maidana is now seen as a marquee fight for any of the top three, but Kotelnik is seen as a junk fight.

When did we decide that Casamayor was feather fisted or shot to ****?

When he knocked out Katsidis or lost a competitive fight with Marquez?

Bradley won a title two years ago, Khan and Alexander less than a year.

    Calm down dear...
