I've always wondered why a guy like Amir Khan is invested so heavily in.

The guy could be fighting JMM on his first US debut. - That would be a dream fight/pay day for a lot of fighters.

    Let's see..

    Good:
    -Olympic background
    -Brilliant attributes/talent
    -Handspeed resembling Pacquaio's/Mayweathers (Probably faster)
    -Big following
    -Respectful person

    Bad:
    -Suspect chin
    -Suspect punch resistance

It's obvious we can see there's much more strengths than weakness, but out there, there is also a lot of guys like Timothy Bradley - a great fighter, who IMO could be excellent aswell. - Yet you don't see him getting the spotlight as much as Khan. - Guess it's about having the right promoter, eh?

    What's your take? :)

He's of Indian or Pakistani decent - therefore he's something different from the standard black, white or latino boxers.

He's also very skillful and the combination of great speed and a suspect chin makes for entertaining watching.

partly. but being the only british boxer at the olympics and winning the silver medal at the age of 17 made him a household name in the uk before he even turned pro. and thats before he signed for warren

Pretty much. He's unique, exciting, very talented and credible both as an amateur and a pro.

    He's probably underrated right now.

he took the Olympics by storm at only 17, then 1 year later he fought the man who beat him in the final of the Olympics and won

his speed is electric, his power is good. he has a great trainer and he is already a world champ. he can only get better, just look at his body, he is so big for a 140 fighter, he for me will def end up at a 154 fighter, maybe even 160.

very underrated now due to that shock knock out, like roach said, his body weight was all wrong, the previous trainer made him build up lots of muscle in his upper body and not his legs, also he was weight drained vs prescott.

at 140 his chin and punch resistance is a bit better which will surprise people, i fully expect khan to take out alexander, bradley, hatton and marquez in his next 4 fights

Apart from his tremendous skills Khan has that star quality that only few fighters have

He has lots of potentials, one being that he has the ability to move up in weight in the near future and be a force to reckon with. I predict he will be a multiple weight div. title holder someday.

The UK is a very lucrative market for boxing, which is why Golden Boy have invested heavily in Khan, Hatton and Haye.

I highly doubt he'll face Alexander or Bradley for good while yet.

How in the hell can you say with a straight face that his Chin is 'suspect'?

That is laughable. It is straight up Grade A China. Period. I can't think of a worse Chin on a 'rated' fighter in over the 25 plus years I have been watching Boxing.

He has perhaps the worst Glass Jaw in the sport today. Not to mention he is the most protected and coddled fighter also. He is a disgrace.
