I have to admit I was really shocked at the post-fight reaction to the Salita fight. Everyone knew beforehand Salita was a nothing opponent with nothing going for him except a shiny record. Always nice to have a one round blowout, but when there is no competitive element to the bout in the first place it tells us little.

    Very true.

What has actually shocked me more is the amount of people on ESB who are now claiming that with that victory over Salita Khan is a sure winner against Alexander, Bradley and Hatton.

It amazes me. Not hating Khan, i just cant understand that from beating a guy who would be lucky to challenge for the British title, Khan has now become unbeatable at 140.

Gotta keep ya on your toes, don't I?:hey

Yeah, signing with GBP is the way to go. He'll get a lot more exposure in the states, and GBP don't seem to mind taking some risks with their fighters (which is the way it should be), so he should get tested more in the ring. Bring on Maidana - that's a fight which would answer most of my questions.

Word is Maidana has agreed to fight Khan after his debut vs JMM, thats if Khan wins that first.

What will people say if Amir does a better jon on Marquez than Mayweather? At a more natural weight?

Because people are waiting to see the most spectacular KO in recent history when Khan comes up against any above average fighter.

Will take a hell of a stoppage to be more brutal and decisive as the spanking he took off Prescott.

    That was vicous.

    They'll probably say:

1 - Mayweather softened him up.
2 - He's still fighting above his ideal weight.
    3 - He's shot.

To be honest it looks like the Barrera bout all over again, I'd much rather see Khan fight a natural LWW in Maidana. I'm not saying that Marquez is washed up, but the whole thing reeks of Roach's cherrypicking Marquez and avoiding the big puncher. Its the kind of calculation he did with the Barrera match. Modern Legend + Smaller Man + On The Slide = Good Opponent. Of course its still a gamble because Marquez is a very good fighter, but the risk-reward factor is a lot better than in a match with Maidana.
