I am seeing +350. This seems like great value for a guy that arguably won the fight if not for a crooked ref. Some would disagree with that statement but there is quite a well thought out argument defending it even if you disagree, it has got some legs. Its in Canada again but Andrade, whose to say he won't get to Bute sooner this time? Why not? I can see Bute having a slight edge but the odds seem out of wack. Why are they like this?
There's not much of an argument to say Andrade 'won' the fight. The referee applied the rules correctly. What is unarguable is that Andrade was dominated for most of the fight. That is why Bute is and should be heavy favourite.
Slower than Bute. Technically inferior to Bute. Defensively wide-open. Thoroughly out-boxed in the first fight. Why wouldn't he be?
Probably because Bute dominated the majority of the 1st fight. Outside of those few moments in the final round Andrade was really getting his ass handed to him. I'm not saying that Andrade can't win this fight, it's possible, but I have no problem with Bute being the big favorite here... he should be. The disparity in skills here is very wide.
but if it wasn't for the ref taking time to send Andrade back to his corner instead of counting Andrade would have had more time to finish Bute Bute was clearly done and nobody would say that he could have lasted even thirty more seconds with Andrade, he was a thoroughly beaten fighter. Whose to say something like that doesn't happen earlier this time? I think Andrade is the one going into this thing with confidence.
I think the odds are correct, also the oddsmakers know that there are a shitload of Bute fans in Montreal that are going to lay big money on him and they don't want the large payout to the favorite. Personally for me this fight comes down to the first three rounds. If Andrade applies pressure immediately to make Bute have to move more than he did early in the first fight, he will gas out sooner and Andrade will be able to go in for the kill around the 9th or 10th round. Andrade just didn't bring it soon enough in the first fight. He let Bute glide around the ring and throw arm punches for the first half of the fight. There is also the psychlogical effect of the first fight that may play into Andrade's hands. To have to deal with constant pressure for 12 rounds is bad enough, but to mentally have to think about during camp and the night before the fight and then as you are walking to the ring very well may make Bute collapse sooner. Or Bute boxes his ears off early and all night long. Hard to say.
Count stops when the ref tells the guy to go to the corner. So he would have had any time anyway. To answer you'r thread is because he was dominated the first time around and there isn't much Andrade can do better.Bute can. Bute should win another decision.
No, he wouldn't have. There were less than 8 seconds left in the fight when Bute got knocked down. All he had to do was get up and the fight was over. He did that. There was no time for the fight to restart. That's fine, but there weren't 30 seconds left in the fight. There were 7, and by the time Bute got up, there were zero, no matter what the ref did. It's possible, but the same fighter wins about 85% of rematches. Bute destroyed Andrade in the fight and dominated him even worse than Kessler until the last round. All he needs to do is not use up as much energy in the early rounds, and he should be fine. It seemed more like he was out of stamina than that he was really hurt badly, and then running out of stamina led him to getting hurt in the last 30 seconds of the fight.
Bute got tired after being very active and controlling the fight. This time he will ease up a little bit to maintain stamina level and win comfortably.
I think this will go a similar way to the Dawson rematch with Johnson. It was obvious Dawson wouldn't make the same errors second time around and I think Bute would have learnt from it too. There are already signs he's prepared for this in the right way sparring with Glen Johnson.
If it wasn't for the time burned off the clock by the ref's choices whather or not you agree with them, Andrade would have had another crack at him. Look at the end of Mosley vs Mayorga. Mosley was allowed to jump right on him. You would conclude than, that that was a bad ref job and Mayorga doesn't deserve the KO on his record?
He burned no time. The count stops when the other guy leaves the corner. And yes the end of Mosley-Mayorga was a bad refing job.
