Why is Andre SOG Ward not a draw? Calling Ward fans

Less sensible now but still tolerable

 

Im a huge Ward fan and have been for years. Ill tell you why he dont sell. Its not his style because hes in no more boring than Floyd yet floyd is the highest paid and most well known fighter in the sport. The difference between the two? PERSONALITY! PERSONALITY! PERSONALITY! Floyd, love him or hate him you have an opinion and he makes it clear what type of person he wants you to think he is. The "villain" "Money" "TBE" "WIFE BEATER" "UNDEFEATED" "RICH" "LUXURIOUS LIFESTYLE" etc... All those things keep people talking. Ward has the personality of an envelop. He cant really play the villain because hes christian and wears it on his sleeve. Also Floyd "Money" Mayweather compared to "Andre Son of God" Ward. LAME! He cant play the good guy because he doesnt have and ounce of charisma. He doesnt have that "it" when he walks into the room and just doesnt sell himself. He is the perfect example of a closed mouth not getting fed. Andre isnt a boring fighter as much as he is a boring personality. He is who he is and hes wasted to much time in his career and it far too late to try to develop that now as it will come across as disingenuous.

 

I am 110% agree with the personality thing. But slightly disagree with the style. Floyd mayweather is a smooth operator despite his safety first approach. Ward just bored the crap out of me. Not a big fan of both, but ward is a HOF and floyd is great.

 

His style. Effectiveness is hardly ever attractive

SOB is boring, he just lost a fight to Kovalev, who almost knocked him out, but as usual, SOB had his judges, referee and boxing commission to protect him. SOB knows that Kovalev would knock him out in a rematch.................SOB will retire rather than fight Kovalev again.....................SOB can pretend that he won the fight, but just about everyone knows that he lost, all Ward did was grab Kovalev's leg, hold, try to headbutt and SOB's ref protected him...............SOB lost, flush that fecal matter down into the toilet and back into the sewer from which he came!

 

The same thing I dislike about him; his crazy religiousness.

You need exposure and you have to sell yourself as well as show the casuals that you can fight. Ward hasn't done that.

Canelo grew up on hbo as did Pac. Those are the only two who are selling ppvs today. They've done that. Ward is more of a fan base guy. They say he has no fans but he gets paid good money somehow.

Ward isn't selling ppvs but he's paid. Wlad is paid. GG is paid and Khan is paid Framp and a few others without being able to sell ppvs are paid.

When you can sell ppvs that means that you are big time. You appeal to fans. Everyone knows you or your fan Ass supports you. Everyone's probably heard of Pac and Canelo. Canelo is more so a built fan base meaning he can fight a Smith and sell.

 

They claim Americans should sell good PPV in the US, yes.

 

His retirement claims is a straight duck, if he actually retires. This coming from a Ward fan who felt he won. That fight needs a rematch.

 

Some combination of race,lack of American sports media support and what looks like the collapse of youth boxing that brought us Ward in the first place. He's on the right path though because people get offended when they see Black excellence on display like they see from him. They'll want to see him lose. I don't take his retirement talk seriously but since so many do (don't be scared) it's working as intended.

 

He's not the best but he is certainly one of the best.
