It's the obvious match up he's got left in his stable of fighters and the best fight he can make.

    LETS SEE IT ALREADY

    provo is not TR.

Rios agreed to fight Provo but Banner chose to make an inhouse fight (Provo-Algieri) instead.

it still may happen if money from hbo is right.

arum is already dangling loma-walters fight to them (hbo) to see how much he can get.

Because Provodnikov isn't part of his stable and he can make more money milking Rios-Alvarado yet again.

Who the hell is there for either of them to fight at the moment? Who can Rios beat at 147?

Provodnikov is doing his Castillo thing back home while Rios is hoping for a fight with Alvarado, who I read is currently behind bars... I think Provodnikov should stay at 140 and go for Vargas, Postol, or an Algieri rematch. Problem for him is that he matches up poorly to them. Rios on the other hand doesn't really have any options at the moment. I suppose HBO could be interested in the winner of Sadam Ali/Luis Abregu vs. Rios and I must say that is moderately attractive. Problem for him is that he matches up poorly to them.

Provodnikov at least has already been offered Abregu and turned down that fight. That's something conveniently glossed over by those who like to pretend he simply has to make a farce of a fight with Castillo because no one else is willing to fight him.

Rios and Arum are ducking the fight .

They know a fight with Provo wont be good for Rios health.

A shame cause its one of the fights i would love to see.

this is one fight that should not happen considering both are already like gate keepers in their division anymore. it will be entertaining but it will shorten their life and boxing career whoever wins because of their style and fighting attitudes. so arum should be credited for humanitarian reasons here.........

There's no reason for Rios to take it, it'd be a one sided automatic pummel of a loss for him.
