People forget Berto almost had Ortiz out in the 6th before getting caught and hurt trying to finish him. Berto was a higher-rated fighter before their fight (don't think Ortiz was ever top 10 at JWW, if he was only for a short while), and now that Berto has rebounded well and Ortiz has been KO'd again, maybe the odds makers feel he is back in his place and doesn't have another inspired performance in him.
No idea. just watched Bertos last fight a week ago. he was on his way to being stopped. Ortiz will stop him this time. Put your money on Ortiz.
Yeah, he looked terrible and got off lucky with the cuts stoppage. I think I'd also go with Ortiz in the rematch, that is if he doesn't have a mental break down and pull an 'Oliver McCall'.
Look for him to get KO'd when he puts his guard down to read his notes on his forearm, "Keep Your Hands Up". :yep This will be Allen Green VS Edison Miranda all over, except there P2K put an L on Allen's right shoe and an R on his left.
I've been wondering that too? Lol it's not like Ortiz just got a few lucky punches, he DOMINATED him over 12 rounds? Berto literally only won 2-3 rounds on my card. . . He pretty thoroughly won round 2, where he KD'd Ortiz, and I gave him round 6 10-9 cause he won more of the round despite trading KD's. . . Then I think I gave him another round somewhere in there. But Ortiz worked him from the outside, in. . . He was outboxing him on the outside, and just KILLING him on the inside. . . I really give Berto slightly more than a puncher's chance. . Ortiz just has to worry about that "mid-range", where Berto can catch him with a straight right, or right uppercut.
the real reason is because he had not fought since 2009 and then had a 1st rd ko win against a bum. then he over looked ortiz as a fighter and a half ass training camp. now this time around he is suppose to get the job done the right way victor by ud.
I don't know, there is something about Vic I can't put my finger on...You just never know who is going to show up. His stregnth of will is just not as strong as I would like it. I think he should be slightly favored though. Berto has not showed me ****. So we will see.
Why you think so? He won maybe 3 rounds against Ortiz the first time? The biggest indication we have of who will win a fight, is a previous fight. . Boxer's don't do to well in rematches, especially when they were pretty much dominated, and out-landed 2-1 the first time. I know the whole thing about Ortiz being mentally weak, and not showing up. . But I just don't think oyu can look past the domination of the first fight. He can't outbox him on the outside. . . He definitely can in-fight with Ortiz. . . He's just got a puncher's chance at mid-range. . .
