Why is BHOP uninterested in a Toney Fight?

Seriously BHOP could fight at a catch-weight. Basically BHOP was targeting Holyfield at HW a few years ago and he always says that he is more motivated to fight someone he has never fought which is why he wanted Calzaghe instead of a RJJ rematch.

They are both old and past their primes so they can not be criticized and they are to elite fighters from roughly the same generation that never fought so lets get it on before retirement!

No way Toney can get under 210. Has Hopkins ever fought above 175?

They could fight at 200-210. BHOP wanted to fight Holyfield at HW a few years ago so I am sure BHOP can put the muscle on if he wanted to.

    Toney can't make weight.

    That's that.

Toney's HW legacy is middling at best. This fight has little/no legacy value and would not sell well.

If fighting Ademak for the undiputed CW crown doesn't interest him (which would sell better, I believe), no way a Toney fight does.

We can see how serious he was about the Holyfield talk by how close that came to happening - i.e. not very.

They agree to fight each other on the cruserweight back in 03 but Hopkins chicken his way out. Toney said Hopkins was going to get 5 million dollars plus ppv bonus if he fight Toney.

    $$.

No one gives a **** about Toney. This is a guy so out of the limelight that when Showtime televised the card where he was fighting on the undercard, they didn't even televise it. Outside of boxing fans, no one knows this guy. That's also why he's always so pissed off because no one knows him and at least Hopkins has crossed over to some respect and is known to some extent in the general public. He wants $$ and respect and attention but he doesn't get it.

I can't believe that number. I'm sure the fight was discussed and I don't doubt Hop turned it down (great fight for Toney), but that number sounds REALLY high. Would have been fun, though.

The one I regret is Toney/Jones Jr. at CW in 2003. That would have been fun.

In regards to their supposed showdown in 2003, it was because DLH agreed to fight Hopkins and that is why Hopkins pulled out. The funny thing is, even Toney acknowledged that he understood why Hopkins pulled out but still talks **** to Hopkins. Well, Toney talks **** to everyone these days.

The numbers is clearly high and Hopkins turn down his biggest pay day in which i'm not surprise cause Hopkins turn another biggest pay day by fighting Jones in 02. Hopkins is a greedy ******* that thinks in his mind he's is a huge draw. I bet he don't know what "draw" means in boxing.
