Please help me understand why this is happening?

Of what value is this to anyone?

This is not even a legitimate "stay-busy" fight.

gets him a wage, helps keep him sharp and keeps his face out there. 3 legitimate reasons imo

2 months from a world title fight I think its pointless him having a fight now in all honesty, a potential head clash /cut / hand injury could happen.

if he's trained fully for this one, then training for 2 more months may make him overtrained for the lee fight. If he hasn't fully trained then its a risk no matter how bad the opponent is.

I suspect the feeling is he needs the work out. I think he will get a few rounds from this, Billy Joe is not the biggest puncher and this bloke is a 168lber.

A three month programme is not unusual in training for a big fight, it will not all be super intense, so if Saunders has a month or so of training in him, this fight is well worth the 'risk'.

Do you really expect him to go in with a hungary undefeated fighter or decent fighter ahead of the Lee clash. This is purely to work on sharpness and a few things he's been doing in the gym, nothing wrong with getting the rounds in. Also, it might mean he could make a statement by stopping the guy.

Glorified sparring session to get rid of any rust. Would be nice to see someone with a few less losses but they aren't gonna risk the les fight

It's one thing fighting a no hoper as stay busy, but this guy will give less of a workout as one of his sparringpartners and is pure recordpadding material.

It's fought at Light Heavyweight by the way.
