Why is Briggs still relevant?

He should retire. He could go into the entertaining business with this let's go champ promotional campaign. Rather than get KTFO and lose the momentum.

 

To most people, he isn't

 

Briggs had Lewis rocked 2x in he wasn't nuked by anyone. lets not forget the power and a chin with decent speed and seems to be getting good work in the gym . Sorry but you don't know what you are talking about because he holds a threat for the reasons I stated.

 

It's absurd isn't it.
The sanctioning body that ranks him should be condemned, and the fans who buy into it should be ashamed.

Briggs is an accident waiting to happen. He's going to have his head punched in.

Answer to the question is the heavyweight division has not got the depth in talent as everyone thinks it has. Some of the guys ranked in the top 10 wouldn't be in the top 25 in most other eras.

 

Briggs is relevant because he brings casuals to the game. He's a bit of a WWF element in boxing.

 

He undoubtedly has slum appeal. The people that approve of his tactics may just be as impaired as the big, dumb, obnoxious twit himself. The bonehead's will continue to support their representative.

 

Because he makes a lot of noise....

 

briggs is still relevant becos its still near the Klitschko era of bumclub 24/7.

He's probably relevant because he wants to fight ... and is prepared to take on someone who might beat him. Unlike many of the other HWs who are inactive or inactive against top opposition anyway. Or they are injured or being busted for steroids.

All it would take is for a top tier HW to fight Briggs and retire him. I'd like to see someone actually 'clean out the division' of all the HWs with *'s next to their names for one reason or another.

The other part is the WBA's 'Regular Belt' circus ... that's been going on for years and will probably be unresolved for years yet. It now seems like they just try to get random people to fight for it but even that doesn't progress things.

 

David Haye avoided him like the plague. These clowns who are calling Briggs a joke probably think Haye is still a top contender and a threat in the division

The bums Haye and Briggs beat were no different to each other. At 44 , Briggs looked better beating his bums than Haye did.
Haye is the real joke in boxing. The guy looked like a big baby wearing an over sized nappy in his last fight ffs
