it was a 80% Khan crowd

As you could hear from Brook getting booed at the walk in, Khan being cheered. Constant '' Amir Amir'' chants as he was getting his ass beat all around the ring . And the arena clearly being full of South Asians who only support their own.

Well you had the same with Froch v Groves first fight in front of 80000 at Wembley....
The crowd booed Groves on the way in and cheered on the way out. basically because he fought a good fight and thought the ref stopped too early. In other words the fans will give credit if the fighter gave it their all.

Khan is known in the USA, Mexico, Asia, Middle East....

Kell is hardly known in the UK

People who struggle to accept Khan is way more popular are trying to focus on the race of some of his fans.

Another fact, Kell beat Khan. You don't need to make excuses for Kell.

Well what is the reason for him being more popular..

Because it sure as hell isn't based off achievements or ability. Hes lost so many times, been knocked out and been dropped countless times. Hasnt won a meaningful fight for over a decade. Has never been in any pound for pound ratings. Never was a 2 weight world champ, never undisputed, never had a long reign, never will get in the hall of fame, and so on. In a sport of so many weight divisions and world champions, nothing amir has done should warrant that level of popularity.

So with that mindset, is the only reason Jake Paul is even more popular in boxing because of his race?
And Derek Chisora, Dillian Whyte and can name the majority of fighters out there today because not many have achieved what Khan has. Brook certainly hasn't but was stylistically a tough match for Khan.

Nobody in boxing cares about the race of the ticker buyers. A ticket selling fighter is a popular fighter, End of!

Amir Khan became and remains popular due to his achievements starting over 15years ago, similar to Eubank, Benn, etc etc.

    absolute nonsense!!

the big most valid point here that you are not mentioning is :

There is loads of top world class White boxers
There is loads of top world class Black boxers

There is ZERO top world class South Asian boxers!!! they are just not good enough.

that is the big reason for Khans popularity with his race of people. they lump all their hopes on him and overrate him massively and worship him like hes a God.

just like South asian footballers are terrible too, never good enough .But for example if suddenly there was a half decent pakistani footballer playing in the premier league. he definitely would have a huge profile and massive fanbase bigger than his ability would warrant .

A ticket selling fighter is a popular fighter, End of story!

The race of the ticket buyers is not relevant. Making money from boxing is about selling tickets. Jake Paul is not talented, neither is Tommy Fury etc etc can name loads more, but they all use whatever tools they can to create popularity in their promotion. Charisma, investment, controversy etc. If you don't know this about the business you need a wake up call.

    Oh, and a stat here for you;
Khan, as an amateur got over 6million UK views for his fight against Mario Kindelan.
Considering there are only 2 million south asian men, women and children in UK, they do not make up the majority.
Even if every asian new born baby, elderly, person in hospital, blind people etc switched the tv on, they don't make up half.

I recently ‎heard Shawn Porter comment on his podcast that when Khan fought there as an amateur, most of his fights were RSC Outclassed which caught everyones ayes as these were high level opponents he beat so easily.

Good luck in your hatred pal.
He sells tickets, its irrelevant who buys them (even thought asians are not a majority)

As an absolutely wild guess, I think the majority of the fans in the arena was Khan fans.

Great point. It's the casual racists who are the ones looking at the race of ticket buyers.

I have said on here before that this view that khan majority fans south Asian is absurd. First of all it shouldn't matter which race of people buy tickets to watch him fight. All colours and creed always welcome to watch boxing!

Secondly if the fans who bought tickets to his fights were predominantly South Asian then someone needs to explain to me that when I watch khan UK fights why am I seeing so many white faces in the crowd.
