I live in England and love England. BUT...

you witness it everyday, you don't even have to look for it, IF your aware and tuned in it's ALL around you. England LOVES England too.

I used to think the Yanks were patriotic to the point of arrogance, WOW how wrong I was. ENGLAND and the English could care less for most anybody else but England, Rule Britannia and all that ****!

Spot on mate. How many fighters can draw as many as Burns too? If they put a quarter of the effort into promoting Burns as they have Froch, Ricky would be known to all the casual Sky Sports News watchers. He's much more engaging than Froch, and has the "still works in JJBs" story!

There's something odd about Sky's lack of love for Burns. Is it because of Alex Morrison maybe?

 

Apart from Carl Froch's last two fights Ricky Burns has been getting the biggest crowds in the U.k.

Burns is doing alright if you ask me, even though Sky could be promoting his fights and shows a lot better.

You had Darren Barker last year get a two hour special made about him on Sky before the Sturm fight.
The build up Tony Bellew got before his first fight against Chillemba and of course his title fight against Stevenson.
Then Burns goes and gets absolutely no exposure on the Sky sports boxings highlights of the year!!! :-(

The fact is Sky and Eddie would rather build up and showcase guys with half the class, courage and heart than Ricky Burns because of their nationality and crossover appeal to the public.

Ricky Burns has had to build up his own recognition without the help of any Sky sports PR campaign :deal
