None of Froch's wins were against opponents who were recognized as legitimate super middleweight top5-10 at the time he beat them.

I think if Froch beats Kessler (and that is a big if) then he will be number 1 on resume, regardless of the Bute-Miranda fight.

In fact ring are always very cool with the fans and I'm sure they are going to give him more or less a good explanation. Although if they know Thery they are not going to lose their time hahah

It's always a tough debate. Because technically, does Kessler even deserve to be ranked in the top10 based on his resume in the past 2-3 years?

You think against Ring professionals. But of course they`re so much in error.Send them your prediction. But, first see the fight and send me a message after, or no, let me send you one.

Bute is only temporary the number one. Before Dirrell, Abraham was number one in boxrec.com ranking and I think after the Ward vs Green and Froch vs Kessler fights we're going to have a new numer one.

Anyway, it's very difficult NOW to say who the best supermiddleweight boxer.

Bika's only two wins at SMW were a guy who had had seven pro fights and lost six and Thysse who was coming off three straight losses.

Explain to me why he was a 'legitimate SMW top 5-10' compared to Taylor, Pascal or Dirrell?

He doesn't deserve to be a top10 at the moment. He's top10 by default because there isn't 10 fighters who deserve to be in the top10. The division simply isn't as deep as people would like to believe.

But when Bute beat him. He was a legitimate top10 at 168lbs base of his controversial draw against WBC champion Markus Beyer and his great effort against a prime Calzaghe.

Unlike Pascal, Taylor or Dirrell who had done absolutely nothing at 168lbs when Froch fought them.

Basically because right now he looks the part. He has fought and beat several fighters who are or were in the top ten. He has looked pretty dominant thanks to his combination of size, speed, skill, and power, and the other top 168 pounders have looked kinda iffy.

Froch, Kessler and Abraham all look like they would be troubled by Bute's unorthodox style, his range and mobility. Dirrell, as good as he looked against Abraham, looked pretty average against Froch which suggests that he has issues with taller and rangier fighters. Against Bute, Dirrell would be in a similar position again, just this time fighting someone who could match his speed and moxy. Ward has the best argument for being ranked ahead of Bute, but his ugly fight versus Kessler does not really inspire confidence that against a fellow slick boxer he wouldn't get beat himself.

What really does matter is that the real best will be known in the next 2 years. Up to that point it's just sujective speculation for most.

I prefer looking at which guys show the most talent and therefore could eventually claim that spot : Ward, Bute, Dirrell, Kessler.

So you want to give more credit to Bute because he fought other people's left overs, guys that had already proven not to be good enough at the top level? Whereas Froch fought unbeaten young fighters who have franked the form within months of having lost to him with their subsequent achievement. Pascal's wins up a division against Diaconu and Branco are as good as any wins Andrade or Bika have in their careers. Dirrell's win over Abraham within six months of losing to Froch is better than any win Andrade or Bika have on their records. Heck, Taylor beating Lacy immediately before fighting Froch is better as well.
