Why is Calzaghe not being heavily critized for blatently ducking Pavlik?

Calzaghe blatently ducks Pavlik and goes for Jones.

The same Jones who he said has no value in taking a victory over.

How many threads on the same subject would count as 'heavily criticised'??!

Just being kind to senior citizens . . . and besides he has been chosing his opponents since the start . . . so what's new? :D

I'm giving him credit for coming over and beating Bhops though and also for fighting Kesller.

Joe is catching plenty of flack. Even the British press is starting to question him.

Pretty simple, Calzaghe ducked any fighter worth mentioning in their primes and his prime because he thought fighters had to travel for his WBO title. When you miss 2-3 good fighters you could've fought in your prime but didn't then we'll TRY to pass but not a ****ing LIST. HELL even the only 2 fights worth mentioning in this guy's record WOULDN'T have happened if they didn't grab their titles(Yes, they were champions too) and went for him and his fans would be bragging about wins over Ashira and an old Eubank. Good job waiting for Hopkins and Jones to go BELOW shot to fight them, otherwise even those two wouldn't have happened.

Yes he has great skills but did we really see those skills against prime opponents considered in his league?, what fighters you ask?, here's a short list.

Hopkins, Toney, Jones, Tarver, Johnson and many others.

Don't think Pavlik would've been a threat and would've lost in my opinion, brutally as well BUT taking a shot to death Jones over Tarver when his record is already full of question marks is an act of someone used to easier targets. All time great?, no way.

he is being ripped to shreds here on the Forum..with the Calzombie fan base though he can do no wrong, and they try and cover for him. Not every Slappy fan though, a few individuals with integrity have called him out on it. Real boxing fans of course. It is important in this discourse to seperate the two schools 1 is made up of Joe Calzaghe fans and the other is made up of Professional boxing fans.

Why the **** has everyone read Joe Calzaghe's autobiography apart from me?

He never struck me as that interesting a guy...

How is Joe ducking someone 2 Weight's C's below him?
Bottomline is Pavlik is **** out of luck, Abraham is his fight now.
    get over it.

Pavlik's team called him out and said they'll move up for this fight, Calzaghe said he will also move down to Super middleweight for it as well then all of a sudden he pickes Jones over Pavlik and that fight is out of the question. Not saying that Pavlik would win but come on, this fight is far better/bigger than a fight with Jones, only reason Calzaghe is taking the Jones fight is because he's pretty sure that Jones is shot to death now, will make more money and will look better on his record years later. Where was Calzaghe when Jones was in his prime?, what about the MANY other fighters available as well?

So you're saying that Jones is an easier fight, will make more money and be better for Calzaghe's legacy? Err, how is Pavlik the better fight for him again? :?

Been done to death. When Jones was in his prime, Calzaghe was continuously calling him out, Jones wasn't interested, as he himself says. And we've heard all about the 'many other fighters available', strange thing is no-one can ever actually name any of them, with the possible exception of Glen Johnson.
