Why is Calzaghe not being heavily critized for blatently ducking Pavlik?

    No I won't stop bringing Toney's name, Toney was still a possible option if Joe Calzaghe wanted him. Like Hopkins was an option as a middleweight back then why is Toney totally out of the list?
    You can push him totally out if you wish, there are many other names left and that hardly affects this list.

    because toney had moved up to cruiser before joe had even fought eubank and never came back south from that again?

    Toney was a light heavyweight for a good few years before settling at Cruiser, he also jumped to Cruiser a few times in that time period then down to light heavy. He's not the best option to be called out since as you said Joe got to Eubank when Toney settled at Cruiser but still a name that could've been discussed. I remember Toney mentioning something regarding Joe Calzaghe as well, mentioning his name doesn't mean that he was the best option out there, there are many others in that list so if you can feel free to pass on Toney's name considering Joe had issues signing to fight Middleweight Hopkins.

    joe had issues signing with hopkins?!

    mate, there is a pretty damning piece of evidence out there already bought to you in this thread that it was hopkins who avoided that one. go find me something that says the roles were reversed.

    Yes and in his attempted last fight at light heavyweight he weighed in five pounds over the limit. And that was before Calzaghe fought Eubank.

    just be happy he is fighting jones and not pavlik because he would make pavlik look silly for 12 humiliating rounds.
    dont believe me then have a good watch of there fights and you will see how slow pavlik is.
    calzaghe loves fighters coming at him and thats what pavlik would do .it would be another lacy job.100 punches per round to pavliks head.

    calzage is a coward. he is afraid of the ghost faced killed and i dont blame him. if old ass hopkins could knock him down then pavliks true middleweight power would destroy him.

    Uh, you do realize that both Hopkins and Calzaghe are Light Heavyweights?

    Light Heavyweight = 175

    Middleweight = 160

    175 > 160

    No?

    pavlik has the type of power that could make him a threat even as a heavyweight. this man has no regard for human life. also hopkins was a middleweight who moved up 175 and he was never even a power puncher but he still had enough to drop tarver and calzage. pavlik could end careers and lives if he moves up because he is young and in his prime and he has true middleweight power.

    I don't need to find you anything, there is a reason the fight didn't happen back when Hopkins was younger and I'm only going to blame the man who spent his career fighting scrubs. Same **** was said about Roy Jones possibly not wanting it, if Calzaghe really wanted it then they would've mentioned something. One reason used to all from Calzaghe's team was that he wanted them to fly to him and everyone laughed at the idea, the other reasons are hardly convincing because the one who needed a major fight in his record wasn't Hopkins, it was Calzaghe and he failed to act like one that needs it.
