Why is Calzaghe not being heavily critized for blatently ducking Pavlik?

calzaghe really lost all credibility when 43 going on 44 year old hopkins put him on his ass and he slapped his way to bull **** decision. He does'nt do anything but get in close and throw a bunch of slaps, he need to play instruments with his dad and get out of the hurt buisness because he wins with punches that in the rule book are illegal in boxing.

I'm still in shock that the circus fight that is Calzaghe/Jones is actually going to take place. Calzaghe will be remembered as the guy who fought an old bhop and an old jones. Joe, you've let us down...

Calzaghe has fought Lacy, Kessler and Hopkins in recent years, I personally think he's earnt the right to fight bums again, but he's not he's fighting a has-been instead.

You seem to be relying on other people to name them for you considering you show no sign of doing so yourself.

You made the claim that these people exist, who else is going to name them for you?

The fact that those fighters existed and mentioned his name more than he mentioned theirs, that's how.

Calzaghe is the Lt. Heavy champion now - why should he be criticized for not fighting the middleweight champ? Why aren't people calling for him to fight Tarver?

Not sure how on earth this is an answer to a question starting 'who'.

Apologies if you're not a native English speaker.

I take it you have no names then?

I already mentioned the names for you, it's not me having problem communicating here, it's the one that keeps twisting the subject over and over like you did in the other thread, too predictable. The names of the fighters are right there, if that isn't what you asked for then give me a direct straight forward post like I do for you because I'm not into playing "guessing" games with forum warriors, I'd rather play that with my girlfriend.

Yeah but you included James Toney on that list and I didn't really want to embarass you again after making you look silly a few days back on exactly the same point.

But seeing as you're requesting it, please tell us the year and weight that Calzaghe and Toney would have fought at.

It's pretty damn obvious that Calzaghe far too new when Roy got to Toney but that doesn't mean that this would've been totally out of the question. If Calzaghe called out a light heavyweight version of Jones and the middleweight version of Hopkins according to your logic then some changes could've been made on Calzaghe's part depending how bad he wants that fight. Toney is still a name that could've been considered a possible opponent. As far as I remember Toney was a light heavyweight for a good few years before jumping from Lt. Heavy to Cruiser all the way to Heavyweight, enough time for Joe to show some interest and moving up for it if he really wanted it. Same case can be discussed with Tarver(talks about that were also available when Tarver beat Jones) and Lt. Heavy Johnson, if those were alright to mention then why not Toney?

Look I have no problem with Calzaghe taking the fight with Jones, its a big payday...The biggest that Joe will ever be able to get. These guys deserve to get paid, and THIS Jones is still better then 95% of the guys that Joe has fought to this point in his career.

No what would have pissed me of would have been had he pulled a Kessler and fought a total no-namer/no-hoper instead of Pavlik.
