Why is Calzaghe not being heavily critized for blatently ducking Pavlik?

I would much prefer Calzaghe to fight Pavlik as I believe it's the more competitive fight, despite the difference in weight. Jones is way past his prime and no longer the fighter he once was.

But having said that I won't criticise Joe for his choice of RJJ over Pavlik and I have often been a very vocal critic of his opposition. Calzaghe is looking for a high profile fight that will earn him some serious money to end his career on and I don't see anything wrong with that.

This is Calzaghe's equivalent of Lewis fighting a shot or seriously faded Tyson over a possible fight with Byrd or Ruiz. This fight for Calzaghe while less competitive makes financial and career sense. Easy fight, big name, big money. Then retirement. If only more fighters could end their careers on their own terms rather than chasing the glory or the money when it has become obvious they are no longer capable of reaching the heights they once acheived.

Pavlik is currently busy beating crap fighters, that never has been or never will be anything. Anyone with knowledge about the game will accept that Calzaghe is head and shoulders above Pavlik in ability. Pavlik is ****ing lucky that Calzaghe rather face a legendary fighter.

Calzaghe fans sure are starting to sound like Mayweather fans.

What's not truthful about my post? Secondly I wouldn't go as far as calling myself a fan of Calzaghe. I acknowledge that he is greatly skilled. He is in the twillight of his career, and wants to take on the fighters that eluded him earlier - whether or not it was his own fault. I am okay with that.

I will probably root for RJJ because he is my 3rd AT favorite boxer after Hagler, and ofc Kessler.

He's just sticking up for the guy that beat Kessler after his less than stellar performance. Sartison will be p4p by the end of the year don't ya know?

Then let JC back up his spoken and written words and prove it. Otherwise...

The more I think about it, the more I dislike Calzaghe. Taking an easy money fight over a legacy fight. More money first bull****, the same reason I hated Mayweather.

I will almost say this once again: "get back into your cave", but I won't - oh I did. Both Kessler and Calzaghe are better fighters than Pavlik. Get over it, but Kessler is more than willing to face Pavlik. Let it be signed. He doesn't need to drain himself to make SMW.

I can't control who meets who, but Pavlik is busy fighting c-lvl fighters atm. Maybe Pavlik should just meet AA, who is in his own division? How about he cleaned it out before shouting at someone who has proved himself at higher weight class.

Calzaghe has the advantages in weight, speed, experience and skill according to a lot of people so he should have jumped at the opportunity to fight someone like Pavlik. A supposedly easy win against a young, undefeated, and respected opponent so why didn't he take the fight? Insecurity? Whatever the reason, a true champion doesn't back down from a good challange and Calzaghe did so the criticism is warranted.

Pavlik's own manager, Cameron Dunkin, said on ESPN.com

"Calzaghe is a terrific fighter. He's not afraid of anybody, including Kelly Pavlik. It's just business."

:huh You realize Pavlik only beat ONE crap fighter, his last opponent. He had a good run prior to it.

Nothing but a fanboy rant that has no meaning. :patsch
