It was pretty darn clear that Canelo got a gift decision against Lara. Lara won a convincing 8-4 decision on my card and in the opinions of most fight fans. Yet, canelo the mexican warrior who talks **** about floyd and other fighters and questions their "heart" refuses to step back in the right with lara....this is the kind of cowardice and hypocrisy that is killing boxing. somebody needs to tell lampley that it's guys like canelo who really misrepresent boxing...not floyd. floyd gave maidana an immediate rematch and to me, maidana didn't even do that well in the first fight to deserve one....why can't lara get his much deserved rematch?

I think lara would beat canelo convincingly again, then take out cotto, ggg , chavez jr, and utlimately move up to capture the middleweight title. don't forget, sergio martinez ducked lara for years and instead chose to fight a buncha harmless europeans.

I thought Lara lost to Canelo 7-5 the result was a SD so it's not like they thought judges had it a landslide. The fact is Lara underperformed and every close fight doesn't deserve a rematch if he gets a notable win or two he could work his way to another shot but right now I don't think anybody wants to see it again soon.

Only the UFC fans thought Canelo won that fight.

Canelo won without a shadow of a doubt the first time. Beat Lara's boby up like a drum while Lara mainly gave up ring generalship by running away. The world doesn't need to see it again.

that'sf funny, because i could swear you were one of the posters on here saying maidana deserved the rematch with floyd because the first fight was "close"...so, it's only close fights where you think your guy would benefit from a rematch, huh? if you think he would lose, like canelo did and would again, then it's "not every close fight deserves a rematch"

i don't know why you would think nobody wants to see it again....ii think A LOTTA people would love to see it again and see canelo get taken to school...myabe what you mean is, you don't want to see canelo exposed by a quality fighter again at this stage of his career.

lara counterpunched canelo silly, made canelo miss and look silly and completely outboxed canello. it was a no-brainer decison win for lara. but we understand, the mexican fight fans need a star so the promoters and networks can make money offa them....but as a matter of principle, canelo who talks **** about other fighters lacking heart shoulda demanded a lara rematch to remove any doubt from the fans minds that he lost the first fight.

I actually had Mayweather-Maidana I a draw fight night(but I can see 8-4) how many times are you going to see a close Mayweather fight.

I had Canelo winning fight night and every time since, Lara did nothing but run the second half of the fight and many professional boxers have that same sentiment. Lara wasn't active or effective enough to school anything, I think if Lara got a good rebound win or two under his belt a rematch would be cool but right now no.

i scored the fight and i couldn'tbeliieve when the one one judge had it 115-113 for canelo....i'm thinking "typical boxing crap" but I NEVER expected the last score to go canelo and for him to actually get the win, as CLEAR and convicing as this was for lara...even the announcers, and canelo is their network star, noted that lara had won big.

to me, the fact that canelo didn't accept an immediate rematch offer from lara tells me canelo's the one really lacking in "heart."

OK, you're saying you expected canelo to lose and he actually did better than you expected, so to you, canelo over-achieved and shouldn't be punished by having another tough fight with lara...i can see that.

and I can also see that you saw something that the vast majority of those who observed the didn't see, which was canelo winning the fight. so, i'll take that as you having a unique approach to scoring fights.

All the judges said it was a close fight and said they didn't mind Canelo winning close, the result was a SD which indicates a close fight. 75% if Canelo-Lara looked like rd 12 of Mayweather-Maidana II with Lara doing nothing but jabbing and running. Even guys who scored the fight for Lara said he was running at times so you can't blame anybody for saying Lara ran because at times he did. Also I picked Canelo to win if anything the fight went like I thought it would

Regardless...in all fairness how can you accuse Opie of running when he has made himself available to fight Cotto and Alfred "GGG" Neuman!!!

nobody is saying he shouldn't fight those guys...i guess what i'm hearing from folks so far on this thread is, canelo really isn't that good, so we shouldn't ask too much of him...like clearing up a disputed decision win. we should just be glad he's gonna have a couple of knock-down drag-outs with cotto and ggg and leave it at that....i mean, lara could fight those guys too, and he deserves it more and would probably do better against both cotto and ggg than canelo will, but it aint that serious....not like a floyd fight.
