Why is Chisora and Haye's weigh in on thursday? 2 days before the fight?

Exactly, weigh ins for HW's are simply for show. I've seen other HW weigh ins that took place on a Thursday.

why? to have time to build up even more interest for the fight and increase ppv sales. that's my guess anyways. im sure something is going to happen...

    Typical/normal for heavyweight fights.

How do you guys come up with this crap is beyond me.

Logically, it's the HEAVYWEIGHT division, there is no cap to whatever weight you decide to make, so Thursday or Friday won't make a difference. Check out weigh-ins for most heavyweight fights, they usually happen on a Thursday.

with your reasoning they might as well have no weigh in at all or have it a month in advance... there must be a reason they put 2 days instead of the usual one day in advance...
don't be a ****. just because u have 24k posts doesn't make you an expert...

Neither one needs to make weight. It is more ceremonial and for the publicity for Heavyweights.

It would be a major problem for smaller fighters giving them more time to cut weight and rehydrate before a fight.

Oh trust me, this is the internet, I have nothing to gain from being a "****". Fact is, most heavyweight weigh-ins take place 2 days before the fight. A simple google search will expose you as the brain-dead dickhead.

    Good day.

Usually when the following Friday includes a set of other weigh-ins, the heavyweights don't mind to pick Thursday. Sometimes they don't mind picking Thursday even when Friday doesn't include any weigh-ins for other big fights. It's random but an open choice since IT'S A HEAVYWEIGHT FIGHT, THERE'S NOTHING TO WORRY ABOUT MAKING WEIGHT.

Too bad common sense isn't for sale.
