A draw with Rocky Juarez doesn't say too much, but the guy beat JMM, who is widely considered p4p top 3. Surely he should be given more credit than he is at the moment.
He was just held to a draw with a guy who is nothing like pound for pound top 10. Why the calls for top 10 status now? It's about more than getting on television as far as I am concerned. To me he is indeed top 20, and has been since Marquez, although that fight is viewed with suspicion. I thought he was brilliant last time out against Enoki.
Other than Marquez and Juarez he has fought basically no one, he was robbed against Juarez, but that Marquez decision was served up on a silver platter for him.
WRONG ! He beat Juarez just like Martinez beat Cintron, very easy decision that goes wrong because of corruption. And wtf about not leaving Indonesia ? How many US fighter ever leave USA...
Sounds like another case of Americans not giving credit to a fighter because he's not American & they have little knowledge of him or the opponents he's faced. Look what happened as soon as he fought there, he beat Rocky Juarez and he gets another stain on his record for the effort.
John won the fight with Juarez but he was not overly impressive. The man who beat Diaz Saturday night would utterly destroy Chris John at any weight.
his last two fights have been in his opponent's back yard. I've often had John in my p4p top10 since 2007
i mean the majority of his career thus not getting enough recognition in the mainstream boxing media.
wasnt JMM vs John a complete home town decision as well? close fight but the score cards were all pretty clear in favour of john i think in the aftermath of the fight people took it with a pinch of salt. plus he doesnt fight in the US so he has no profile amongst a lot of fight fans in the west
