JMM vs John was not a complete hometown decision. John has more of a case against Juarez than JMM did against John. And to top it off i don't know if you watched the fight but HBO said before the fight that John's team said that if John was fighting a better caliber opponent than Juarez, they would have pulled him out of the fight. He was not at 100%
Chris John was robbed no doubt and I think from the interview afterwards it was obvious that Kellerman was upset his boy lost cause he acted like a complete *****. As to top 10 he's gotta be knocking on the door hopefully the unification fight will sort that.
US fighters don't have to leave the US because the best fighters and competition are in the US..whereas being unbeaten in indonesia only proves your the best at that weight only in that country where if your the best at that weight in the US..your the best at that weight in the world.
Because from what I've seen he's not good enough. Lampley did all he could to play up that CJ may have actually beaten JMM. Seems to me if he actually did win the fight they wouldn't have had to go on and on to justify it. And I agree with a previous posted, JMM or Diaz woulda KO-ed Chris John Saturday night.
co-sign he should rematch Juarez (not in Houston this time) then fight Luevano, and if he wins both i'm sure he'll be up there......also he can fight Gamboa, a win against a highly rated (overrated?) prospect would do his resume some good
He fought like he didn't belong in the top 25 is why. Also, his resume does not stack up. The fight with JMM was at the very least highly controversial, and highway robbery to many. So that alone will not be rocketing John into the top 10 anytime soon.
Isn't it that the man who beat Juan Diaz that night was the same man who was schooled by John ib Indonesia?nut:nut
People were impressed by his US debut. We will see more of him in the future and hopefully, if he beats top caliber oppositions next year then he may clinch a p4p status.
