I know Martinez is good, but why is it that people speak as if it were ludacris to predict a Cotto win over Martinez?? Miguel Cotto is one of the best of thi s generation. I think Cotto stands a great chance of winning this one, I'm not saying that it wouldn't be a challenge.

The kind of fighter who would beat Sergio decisively would not be going the 10 rounds with Mayorga.

Cotto does appear to be getting his "mojo" back. :yep

Another unknown is that Martinez IS getting old...infact older by the day and in your later 30's, you're liable to "not show up" at any time. :deal

With that said though, Cotto is kind of small-ish even for 154 and Martinez is coming off a couple years of Ruling the MW division....with KO's to boot.

    ****, I'd buy it though.

Felix trinidad landed over 60% of his power punches and it still took him 8 rounds to make Mayorga surrender because the man is seriously almost impossible toknock out. He even knocked Tito down, hurt de la hoya, beat Vernon Forrest twice. The man is no joke, Cotto fought Mayorga the way ur supposed to, by boxing cautiously.

Durability is the big issue for me. Cotto's a better technician in my opinion. Martinez, a lot of the time, makes me cringe.

Cotto's durability has always been his downfall as far as cuts and stamina, with this new trainer his stamina has improved a little, but as far as technique I don't think Martinez is even close man.

I'd agree with this; the issue in this match up for Cotto is that he's taking on a guy who is faster, stronger, bigger, greater reach and hits harder. Stamina I'd call even; both guys are only average in this department.

No matter how much better your technical skills are, that's quite the hurdle to overcome for Miguel.

    That's why it's difficult to imagine a W for Cotto v Martinez.

Like a dude said earlier though; I'd buy this for sure :yep:bbb

What I find most funny and interesting many say Cotto is damage goods and this and that about him. But yet a fighter like Martinez wont fight Cotto at 150, but will for Floyd and Manny? Manny wont fight Cotto at 150 but did for Margarito. Margarito wouldnt dare to go at 150 with Cotto but did for Manny. My question is why are they so demanding when it comes to Cotto esp. if he is damage goods?:huh

Because some on this forum have a man crush on him.
They go as far as referring to him as "Sexy" Sergio.

    What the hell is that?

Martinez will definitely eat a lot of jabs followed by some right crosses.

Martinez does not have KO punch just caught Williams perfectly!!!

Hardcore Boxing fans would love this fight.

Cotto is a very live underdog, but I wouldn't back him to win.

He does not have a fair chance. Consider his fight with Manny Pacquiao and the way he got knocked down I believe it was in fourth round... Miguel is a very reasonable, calm and good spokesman for himself and he acknowledged he didn't see that punch coming so we all know and Miguel knows that the punch that hurts you the most and shakes your foundations is the one you can't see and are not prepared to take... Now consider Martinez punching also from a lefty position and as fast and harder... Remember Paul Williams lights going out out of nowhere?

Sergio Martinez is to fast and uses angles. Cotto will have problems seeing the punches. I see Martinez stopping Cotto in 10 rounds.
